I had planned the highlights for an upcoming trip to Vienna and Salzburg to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversar. I had run across Barbara's website and decided she might be a good fit to help plan some restaurants and activiites with limited walking to the sights were planning to visit. She did a great job with providing an excellent tour guide for a walking tour of Vienna, excellent car service to Stift Heiligenkreuz, as well as added suggestions of tickets to buy and sights to visit, and multiple restaurants with links to walk close to the locations we chose to visit throughout the city. Barbara handled all my requests quickly and professionally, and would highly recommend her services to anyone.

We've never used an itinerary planner before and were a little apprehensive having to part with so much money! However we have no regrets whatsoever. We travelled from Innsbruck to Salzburg with lots of stops, activities, eating and accommodation inbetween. We told Barbara our likes and dislikes and she came up with an amazing itinerary which was just fantastic. We just loved it all and I can't recommend Barbara enough!

RE: 2019 “Dancing in Vienna” Tour We want to thank Barbara Cacao of Vienna Unwrapped for her time and assistance as our Travel Planner in setting up our trip to Europe earlier this year. Our trip began with the thought of dancing the Viennese Waltz in Vienna and then expanded to a plan for 10 days in Austria and Hungary. The planning and preparation for our visit took almost a year from the time we decided to go and the time we departed on our trip. Barbara was an instrumental part of this process as we explored our options and her suggestions and fine-tuned a plan with many changes over the course of that period. Throughout, Barbara was patient and accommodating, making changes along the way or offering suggestions to help guide us to better choices, quickly responding to our questions, and being our on-site expert. As a result of this planning process, we were able to enjoy a wonderful vacation experience with no major problems or concerns. It was very easy to follow the schedule she laid out based on our discussions and requests and not waste time deciding where to go and what to do on any given day. Her hotel and restaurant recommendations were perfect for us, with excellent accommodations and wonderful food throughout the trip. We ate so well that the only changes we made to our final itinerary were a couple of skipped lunches when we just couldn’t eat again at the scheduled time! The four tour guides she lined up for our tours of Vienna, Salzburg, Buda and Pest were excellent. Each brought a thorough knowledge of their area and the communication skills to allow us to learn a great deal about the history and culture of their cities. The one downside we had here was that we would like to have had even more time with them to tour! Unfortunately, even in Europe there are only 24 hours in a day. And what can we say about the formal balls in Vienna? “Wow” is such an understatement. The evenings were perfect from the time we started getting ready to go until we somewhat slowly returned to our hotel. The dinner reservations she made for us were perfect – great food and locations just a short walk from each venue. The two balls we chose to attend with her input and advice provided memories for a lifetime, with beautiful ballrooms, wonderful fanfare and entertainment and all the dancing we could handle in a night. On top of that, we even met several people along the way that provided insights and suggestions to maximize the experience. So, after several month of recounting our stories and singing her praises to our dance friends and families, we are finally getting around to our formal “Thank YOU” to Barbara for a job very well done. Our group of four appreciated all that she did to make our trip so memorable and enjoyable. We are already thinking of places to go and things to do for our NEXT vacation! My husband ( the grasshopper ) decided that he wanted to visit Austria for the Easter weekend. As he is only able to tear himself away from work for a long weekend, Wednesday through Saturday, I suggested we concentrate on one area rather than the whole country: we had a lot to experience in a short time. Barbara planned a three day itinerary for us that was flexible enough to accommodate our spontaneous style of travel. There were enough options to keep us engaged from early morning to late night and each day's activities kept us focused on one area of the city and helped minimize travel time from our hotel in the "Old City". Her directions and instructions for transit were invaluable and precise, down to train and boat schedules. We felt like we were able to experience a great deal of Vienna, its' culture, and history in our short visit. Barbara's suggestions for dining and her "hidden gems" were well suited to our tastes. Her skillful communication and understanding of our travel desires provided us with many pleasant memories. We would have missed so much if we did not have her as our remote concierge.

We were a family of 9 travelling for first time to Vienna -Salzburg from India. With the online frauds, I was skeptical of making full payment for a day trip basis reviews only. I took the plunge and have no regrets. Was pleasantly surprised with the ever helpful service & organisation. Barbara is efficient, so very prompt in her response , highly professional yet open to customisation. The day trip from Vienna to Salzburg ( 7.30 am to 8 pm) itinerary went through many changes due to my multiple requests but she was always willing to help with her very good & patient suggestions on timing , travel with kids , non-touristy concert options , places to visit , local restaurant, shopping places , vehicle to fit 9 of us by good spirited Driver Fikret etc. etc We had a very comfortable ride with a small stop each , at picturesque places , both while going in and coming back . At Salzburg she had already arranged for our tickets so no waiting time , and the service of a highly learned and experienced narrator, M/s Naomi, who knew all the historical places of interest at Salzburg including the charming snippets of Sound of Music. The walk through Mozart museum, cemetery and the Cathedral was very interesting and Naomi added a choc tasting session just for fun. All this , mixed with her humour , made our day trip memorable and asking for more . One day was not enough. Overall a fantastic experience and a dream fulfilled , thanks to Barbara, who is like a friend you can trust, in the manner she responds to make you feel comfortable, customised arrangements and helpful local advice that’s not available on google.

I booked my trip last minute. Barbara was prompt and professional. She was able to provide an itinerary with all my wishes. Claudia, the travel guide was beyond wonderful!!! She was also able to get all the information on such short notice of where my grandmother grew up. I would highly recommend Vienna Unwrapped.

After discovering Barbara’s excellent Vienna Unwrapped website, we asked her to help us plan our weeklong trip. We provided a list of places and things that interested us, focusing on history and music, and asked her to make sure we had an opportunity to have authentic, non-tourist Viennese experiences and eat classic Austrian cuisine. She skillfully worked our requests into an itinerary that conveniently grouped various sites together day by day and gave us plenty of opportunities for unexpected discoveries along the way. She booked two private tours for us with excellent guides and drivers that gave us even more enjoyment than we had expected. Her restaurant recommendations were superb, and her special touches—things we would never have known about otherwise—helped to make the trip the best vacation we’ve ever taken.
