They promise a whole innovative approach to it and that you'll get a lot more matches and dates because of their approach, but I didn't really notice *any* improvement compared to what I could do myself. The dates they got for me were very subpar.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry the results didn't feel meaningfully different from what you'd achieved on your own.
Our approach is built on expertise, time savings, and consistent effort, but we recognize that match quality and date outcomes are ultimately what matter most. If you'd like to discuss your experience in more depth, I’m available at [email protected].

Vida Select over promised and under delivered
Vida Select over promised, and significantly under delivered both on execution and results. You be the judge, here’s my accurate experience with their service.
During the initial and then onboarding phone calls used to create my profile, I was assured they would have no problem finding me appropriate matches within the 3 month service contract. They said matches would be attracted because I offered what many women wanted and lived near Boston. In brief: I’m a truly nice and kind man on all levels who is emotionally available, am financially secure, own a nice home in a nice town near Boston, (Belmont), reasonable looking (“he’s cute”), in good shape (5’9” 166lbs, bike 40 miles), Ivy grad and undergrad, and looking for a good mutual match.
The reason I hired Vida is because I was not able to find a good long term mutual match, and who was also physically available to significantly travel. I want to explore North American parks and other interesting places in my comfortable new Airstream Trade Wind 25FBT. A match would enjoy this adventurous travel including riding our E-bikes, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors together, in comfort.
Based on these assurances, I paid Vida in early November, immediately provided all information requested, but my profiles did not go live for over two months!
Vida’s selection of womens’ profiles to “like” frequently completely ignored both my and their preferences. Vida would occasionally make up false interests or activities which basically lied to women, (via my account so lying Using My Name)! Even Match.com at one point suspended my account due to suspicious behavior.
At Vida’s recommendation, I then searched for good mutual matches and sent Vida a screenshot of women to contact, but they would either delay many days or not contact them at all.
The result is None of the women were interested in this type of adventurous travel. Finding a mutual match was the entire objective of hiring this service!
So six (6) months after hiring Vida I have not met a single woman with the common interests promised by Vida. Multiple emails to Vida have yielded no response.

Hi Eric, thank you for sharing your experience.
You're right that there was a longer gap than there should have been between when you signed on and when your proactive search began. We own that.
That said, we provided 3 full months of live search time. And what we guaranteed in your 3-month agreement was 3 introductions. We delivered phone numbers of 9 interested women that you approved. You told us you wanted a partner to tour the country in your RV and were open to meeting anyone within 2,000 miles, so we presented matches accordingly.
On match criteria, there were two early instances where women outside your preferences were contacted. That was caught and corrected. And they were not included in your tally of 9 presentations.
Our team gave your account their full effort, and while we're sorry the experience didn't feel like a win from your end, we stand behind the work that was done. I'm always available if you'd like to talk it through: [email protected]

Mostly Dating App Management — Not Worth It If You’re Under 30
I want to do my best to write a review that hopefully helps others who are looking into this service and deciding if it is right for them. My aim is not to write a negative review for the sole purpose of bashing VIDA. With that in mind, let’s begin.
Before we get into the positives and negatives, I would first like to start off by saying that at the time of using this service, I was in my mid to late twenties. I believe that is imperative to my experience, so please keep that in mind. I will get into it later, but I believe if you are older, you will have a different experience.
Okay, now with that out of the way, let’s go into what VIDA pitched to me. On the first outreach call, I had a very pleasant chat with what I assumed was a salesman of some sort, who asked for some basic info and answered my questions. I did ask if my age would be an issue, and he assured me it would not be.
After that, I came to this site to read reviews, and one struck out to me, talking about how they manage your dating apps. That struck me as odd, since that is not the traditional avenue for matchmakers, so I went and asked the salesperson about it. He confirmed that was the case, saying I should expect 60% dating app management and 40% traditional database matchmaking. In the end, that was closer to 95% dating app management and 5% traditional database matchmaking, but I will speak on that later.
Next, I signed up and had my screening call with the matchmaker. I think she had thoughtful questions and did her job well. I went out of my way to ask if my filters would prohibit me or be too narrow for any database matches, and she assured me that I would be okay.
Next, they helped me create some new profile pictures, which seemed edited by AI, but were not too bad honestly, and created my dating profiles. They also heavily suggested I buy the premium version, which is no small fee, basically adding another 8–10% to the cost.
Now, to the results. In one month’s time, they managed to get me two phone numbers of girls from dating apps and only ONE potential database match, and that was AFTER I had to expand my age range by two years. Now, they do say 1–3 matches, so technically speaking, they somewhat delivered. However, I, on my own accord, could have gotten those matches from the dating apps easily. What I can’t believe is how little prospective database hits I got. They even said “quote-unquote” the main limiting factor was my age range.
What I was so disappointed about is that on all accounts I was assured my age would not be an issue, and it wound up being an issue. The biggest problem is that this was more of a dating app management service rather than matchmaking. I cannot imagine any guy in my age range who is so busy that they can’t use dating apps on their own time, especially for the price point.
I think if you are in your 30s, this will be better, especially if you don’t use dating apps often. However, if you are below 30, I just can’t recommend this service. (Side note: I was also in their most populated region in the US (NYC area), so if you are not there, it will be even rougher.)
Lastly, some positives and negatives:
Positives:
Everyone was super kind and helpful.
The pictures they made for me were useful.
Negatives:
The service itself.
I hope you find this review helpful and use it to make an informed decision.

Hi Ronnie,
I'm Rosalia Silva, VIDA's Client Success Manager. Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful and balanced review. Your honest feedback helps others make informed decisions, and it helps us better understand how to set appropriate expectations.
You've raised an important point about age demographics and our service delivery. You're absolutely right that the experience can differ significantly based on age range. Our internal database naturally skews toward clients in their 30s and above, which means for our younger clients we focus more heavily on the dating app management portion of our service. I’m disappointed to hear that those expectations weren’t set properly during your onboarding, and I’m looking further into this.
Regarding the 60/40 split mentioned during your consultation, I checked with your initial consultant, and he mentioned that he typically expresses between 15-40% of matches would come from our internal database. We’ve discussed how he should have been clear that your experience would likely fall on the lower end of that range given your age.
In the NYC area for someone in their mid-to-late twenties, the dating app landscape is indeed quite active, and you're right that many people in that demographic are comfortable managing apps independently. With that said, most of our clients come to us because they’re not having the success they’re looking for on the platforms. Or they prefer to outsource the heavy lifting to us so they can simply enjoy the dates.
I'm glad our team was kind and helpful throughout your experience, and that the photo lineup we created is serving you well.
Thank you for acknowledging that we delivered within our stated parameters, even though the service wasn't the right fit for your specific needs. Your feedback about age-related expectations is valuable, and we'll use it to better guide future consultations with younger clients about what they can realistically expect in terms of online vs. offline matchmaking.
We appreciate your professional approach to this review and wish you all the best in your search. Those photos should continue to serve you well as you navigate dating on your own!

Update- happy resolution: Mixed reviews for this company
-one star as net experience was troubling, at times felt unethical, poor communication between customer and "writing team". But let's start w/ the positive first:
- profile development - 5 stars - well written and I thought really captured the range of my personality
-pix selection - very helpful to have their g-lines, but esp to have access to their editing services and gen feedback about pix
-dating app - 5 stars for having the Vida team set-up my profile for each app. Lovely process, they helped me craft my answers to the many questions and then posted them.
> -managing dating apps - zero stars - and after all of the above it went down hill pretty quickly. I'm very introverted and a "later dater", so having Vida screen for possible candidates and send soft ball questions to get the ball rolling sounded like a dream...and it was for about 2 days and then the "writing team" started making up info about me. My acct manager tried to assure me that the misinformation wouldn't matter as the potential date wouldn't care. I'm old school about a few things and the true and correct info about yourself is the basis of any relationship, so this felt like lying to me. I didn't appreciate the brush off by the account manager and was way out of my comfort zone when the bad info was repeated at least one more time to the same person...and new misinformation was created. Unfortunately, all of this could have been avoided by just asking me what my answer was to things like what city did you grow up in? The writing team decided to punt and say I grew up on the west side of my state, when in reality I grew up in a big city on the east side of the state(try explaining that on a coffee date). Why did I move to my current location? The writing team decided it was to be near family, unfortunately all my family lives at least 500 miles from my current location - this info was repeated twice to one possible candidate. The correct answer is I moved for work and friends in the area. Within the first wk I asked the Vida team to stop working w/ my account as I was very uncomfortable w/ the lack of communication w/ me and the delay in the writing team correcting the misinformation. For the money, correction to these issues should have been a no brainer. You may be comfortable w/ these kinds of miscommunications, I'm not, when I meet someone new at a party, church, etc I'm listening deeply to who they are, what is important to them and will circle back to the info they have given about themselves. I'm not going to continue a relationship w/ someone who has given me bad info about the city they were raised in, why they have moved to my town, etc.
> -in tiny print in the Vida contract it lists the opportunity for mediation if you have an issue w/ their services. I've requested mediation at least twice and have gotten no where.
>Oct 2025 Update - I was contacted by the Client Manager very soon after this review posted. I appreciated the quick response and her commitment to remedy what was a difficult situation for me. She offered a very reasonable solution to the situation, to which I am most appreciative.

It wasn't clear when I signed on with…
It wasn't clear when I signed on with the salesperson that a matchmaker was going to pretend to be me to potential dates on well known sites. I'm sure fine by most but this makes me uncomfortable. But by the time I put the pieces together, my money was handed over. I'm using them for profile building though since the people are so nice.

Hi Evelyn - I’m Rosalia, the Client Success Manager here at VIDA. I’ve reached out to you both via email and text to discuss your concerns directly, but haven’t heard a reply yet.
It's important to us that every aspect of our service is clear from the very beginning, so I’m truly sorry to hear that you didn’t feel that was the case on your initial call with your Matchmaking Advisor!
As you can imagine, our advisors work from a set of carefully prepared talking points to ensure potential clients are provided with all the necessary information before making a decision to work with us. They are required to cover this comprehensive information on every call to guarantee transparency and understanding.
We understand that our standard service model might not be for everyone. I want to highlight that, beyond profile building, there are numerous ways we can tailor your experience to better suit your needs and preferences. Our team is dedicated to working with you to adjust our services in a way that you find valuable and feel comfortable with.
I look forward to the opportunity to speak with you whenever you're ready to connect.

Sounds great until they get your money.
Sounds great until you pay the subscription. During the initial phonecall - the person I got to speak with sounded like she cares, understands and is very much willing to help. After that - nothing. As in, it took them A MONTH to just fill in my profile. You don't get to communicate directly with the "ghostwriters" or the people actually creating your profile.
Null results after 2 paid months. They offered one more month free - but same thing: no results. I've had better luck on my own.
2 stars for trying. This isn't a scam, it's like, I feel they kinda try to do deliver, but it just didn't work for me.

Hey Mike,
Rosalia with Client Success here. You and I had several interactions over the course of your time with us as I worked with you and on your behalf to help you get the most out of your VIDA Select experience. I’m sorry to hear you feel we still didn’t meet your expectations.
But I was surprised that you felt we got you “null results”. During your time with us, we provided you with two date opportunities. And from those, I understand you even went on several dates with the woman from Bumble.
When I look at activity levels on your account, I see that we produced an online presence that was attractive to matches you were also interested in. We found those women via our scouting and successfully started conversations with them.
Specifically, I see in our system that 20 conversations were marked “Client Took Over,” meaning you took over mid-conversation instead of letting your writer finish the job. Given the opportunity, I’m sure we would have converted a number of those into further date opportunities. As I know your matchmaker explained on several occasions, having a client jump in mid-conversation on the apps is not ideal for multiple reasons. I sincerely hope those conversations turned out well for you! I saw, for example, that you responded to one of our match approval emails saying, “Yup. I took over the chat with her. Good find!” I truly hope that one worked out and you also found some value in the other 19 conversations that we didn’t have the chance to turn into date opportunities for you!
We’re always taking client feedback into consideration as we continually evolve and make improvements, and in the rare case where a client leaves the service unsatisfied, we do our best to provide a resolution that’s fair to both parties. As you and I discussed when we spoke back in January, it’s true that your setup was delayed quite a bit beyond our normal timeline and that’s why we offered you a complimentary month of service.
The structure of our service maximizes the strengths of each team member while streamlining the process as much as possible for you by minimizing your points of contact. This combination of efficacy and efficiency results in the most productive use of your paid time, and your matchmaker quickly relays any feedback you may have to your ghostwriter.
Ultimately, our service is designed to be flexible - that’s why we don’t require a long-term contract. If a client isn’t finding value, they simply don’t choose to continue with us, as you have done.
We wish you the best in continuing to pursue your dating goals.

Underwhelming
I believe that the most useful review would be giving a sample of VIDA’s work.
To give an idea of what to expect from the conversations they'll have, and how they might differ from your own, here is one where I had started the conversation and they then took it over, to illustrate any differences in quality between my messaging and their’s.
Me: Hey, I’m from [state] too, I grew up in [town]! You?
Her: What a small world. That’s where I’m from too. Which part? 😋
Me: Oh awesome!! I went to [school] for Middle School and [school] for high school! Which high school were you in?
I lived really close to [local spot]
Her: I lived out in the country on the border with [town] so I went to [school]
Me: Oh cool! I lived near [that same town]ish when I first moved there – [road name] Road! What brought you down to [our current state]?
Her: I got out of the navy and decided to stay. Hbu?
This is the part where VIDA takes over for me.
VIDA: Sorry, been busy with work! That’s really cool about the Navy, how was that? After college I was looking to move to a place with more opportunity career wise. I decided on [city] and got a good job, so I moved! Haha.
Her: It’s all good and it was alright. Happy to be in the civilian world nowadays
VIDA: That makes sense, seems like it would be more chill on this side of things. What’re you up to for this long weekend? Anything exciting going on? :)
[Distance of a day goes without reply]
VIDA: Isn’t it my job to be the strong and silent type? ;)
Her: Sorry I’ve been exhausted from working and forgot to check this yesterday 😭
VIDA: Oh no worries at all! There are certainly better things to get up to than check Tinder 😂 Would you want to leave you number and we can talk that way/plan a time to meet sometime soon?
[Distance of three days goes without reply]
VIDA: Have my charms rendered you speechless already? ;) [Side note, I think this is a really great line to restart a conversation!]
Her: No I just suck at replying 😂
VIDA: Haha, that’s fair 😂 Would you want to drop the endless small talk and plan a time to meet sometime soon?
Her: I would like that 😋
VIDA: Great! Let’s meet sometime in the next week! Which days and times work best for you? 😊
Her: I’m probably not gunna be free until Saturday
VIDA: Saturday works great for me! Would you want to leave your number to sort out the details closer to the day?
[Almost a week goes by]
VIDA: Would you be down for drinks tomorrow evening?
[She does not send another message]
So, you can decide for yourself whether this seems like something you would want.
To give my personal opinion, I found VIDA underwhelming. I expected to be WOWed by expert conversationalists, but to me their approach seemed to be very boring smalltalk followed by excessively early insistence on getting someone's number. In the hyper-competitive world of dating apps, you need to stand out, and VIDA just simply didn't seem to do that.
This appeared to be reflected in the results. With VIDA for one month I got no dates. They got me two numbers, one of which never responded to me.
I think VIDA could be helpful if you're someone who is having a lot of trouble talking on these apps, but for most people you can probably do just as well or better yourself.
Their profile writing was somewhat helpful. I didn’t feel a wow factor there either honestly and you can get the same for much much less on Fiverr.
Response from VIDA SelectJul 21, 2021
Hi there, I’m Meagan, from VIDA’s Customer Success Team. I’m sorry to hear you felt your experience was underwhelming. I would love to speak with you directly about your experience, so if you could reach out to me directly (meagan@) or to your matchmaker, I would appreciate it!
In the interim, I’ll address your concerns with the writing process here. Whenever a Dating Specialist takes over an existing message exchange for a client, as is what happened in the example you included in your review, they always emulate the style of the initial messages the client sent themselves.
In the example you cited above, you began the conversation with a statement about where you were from and what town you grew up in, and asked your match where she grew up. You then mentioned what schools you went to, asked where she went, and then asked her what brought her to your current state.
The entire conversation prior to your Dating Specialist taking over was what most people would consider to be “small talk” subjects, and your writer was constrained to the tone you established in your first three messages. Suddenly shifting to a more creative and interesting line of questioning could easily raise a red flag for your match, and it’s one of the reasons we prefer to handle the dating app conversations from start to finish.
In our experience, a conversation that starts out with common “interview” style questions/boring small talk is fairly difficult to convert to a date or a phone number exchange, as the first impression it makes is difficult to overcome. You’ll often find the match isn’t all that engaged or invested in continuing the exchange, as was the case here.
Regarding your comment about an “excessively early insistence on getting someone's number,” our data shows it’s far more effective to ask for a match’s phone number or propose a date after each person has sent 3 to 5 messages.
As you likely already know, competition on dating apps is fierce - especially for the attention of the high-quality matches VIDA selects for our clients. Most women have neither the inclination nor the time to engage in a seemingly endless message exchange on apps like Tinder.
In our experience, it’s far more effective to start with an interesting and engaging icebreaker, build up the attraction for another message or two, then begin to transition the conversation off the app.
All that said, our QA team was unable to identify this conversation in our database. That’s really strange! But trusting the message exchange was replicated accurately here, I’ll be the first to admit that while the conversation isn’t terrible, there are a couple of areas where it’s certainly not up to the high bar we set for our writers. Connecting with me or your matchmaker would help us identify the conversation and address these issues more directly with our team.
Regarding your profile, I’m glad you found the process useful but disappointed to hear you didn’t feel it had the ‘wow’ factor you were looking for! Every client approves of their profiles before they go live on the apps, so I wish you would have let your matchmaker know.
Had you communicated that, your writer would have addressed your concerns. In fact, a client can always request to change writers, whether it’s for their profile or their messages, if they feel a different writing style would be a better fit. All you had to do was ask!
I would really love it if you’d reach out to me so we can talk about how to make this right for you.
Best,
Meagan
