Susan, this is your fourth review about the same database membership experience, even though we came to a resolution that you accepted in December. I offered to get on the phone with you again in January, but you declined the opportunity. My offer still stands. [email protected]

$3,100 for Zero Dates Over Two Months
I spent $3,100 on VIDA Select over two months and one "free" week. I got zero dates, zero phone numbers that led anywhere, and zero results.
Their website promised "99.6% of clients get dates" and "82% start relationships within 3 months." The sales call said my requirements were "totally achievable - we've done this for years." But on the matchmaker call, the narrative shifted: they guarantee hours of service, not matches. Still, "90-something percent get dates in the first month." I'd already paid $300 non-refundable, so I continued. Each month cost $1,300, plus $400 spent outside for suggested new clothes and photosession.
When results didn't materialize, they blamed shadow-bans on all 4 platforms. I contacted support - all said my accounts were fine. Then they blamed needing paid subscriptions - I paid $100 more. Then wrong city, so we expanded from Tampere to Helsinki. Then wrong country, so we expanded to Berlin. Then "cultural differences in Finnish market." Then "it takes 3-4 months" after promising first-month results.
Over two months I received 10 total approval requests. One was a Philippines scammer they counted as a "match." One violated my explicitly stated requirements, also counted as a "match." Three total conversations happened, all under 3 exchanges before ghosting or unmatching. Their Berlin "success" meant match rate increased from 2 to 7 per month, but conversation rate stayed at 1 per month with under 3 exchanges. The final free week produced nothing.
I had specified during onboarding that I wanted them to arrange dates, not just get phone numbers. With the one real match who met my requirements, they asked for her WhatsApp after only 2 messages and handed it off to me. She never responded. When I asked them to continue the conversation on Tinder, they refused, citing policy: once the client starts chatting, they never impersonate the client with that person again. They violated my chosen strategy, got no result, then used policy to avoid fixing their mistake.
Getting information required increasingly specific questions. When I asked about progress with two matches, the matchmaker said one was "super responsive" and the other "wasn't very responsive." When I asked for screenshots, "super responsive" meant 2 messages before ghosting, and "wasn't very responsive" meant zero messages - she admitted she'd mistakenly thought she saw a response that never existed. She told me "2 new Bumble likes" were coming for approval - they never came. When I followed up, she said they'd "since unmatched." This pattern of contradictions and false information continued throughout.
After I asked what would change if I renewed, their Customer Success Manager said: "We're not in the business of asking clients to 'pay more and hope it works.' The team doesn't have any fresh ideas on your account." They fired me as a client but offered zero refund.
The contract specified 40 hours of service per month - photo selection, profile writing, swiping, messaging. They delivered the hours, legally fulfilled their obligation. No outcome guarantees anywhere. Marketing promises 99.6% success rate, contract only promises hours of tasks.
Read the contract, not the marketing percentages. They promise dates in sales calls but only guarantee hours of service legally. When you get zero results, they've already fulfilled their contractual obligation and keep your money.
Edit: Down below is a perfect example of achievement inflation you'd get along the whole path. "modified our messaging approach based on cultural feedback" really means "we used canned entry lines in 2 conversations, received 5 responses total, and never had a chance to try anything else".
Response from VIDA SelectMay 15, 2026
Hi Freywar, Rosalia here. Thank you for sharing such comprehensive feedback about your experience.
I want to address your characterization that we "fired you as a client." When you inquired about renewal, I specifically advised against continuing because I didn't believe it would be in your best interest. After two months of trying various strategies without achieving the results you deserved, we genuinely felt it would be wrong to accept more of your money. This wasn't a termination - it was me trying to protect your financial interests even though it meant turning away revenue for our company.
You've accurately described the challenges we faced together. The Finnish market presented unique difficulties we hadn't fully mastered. Despite exhausting multiple strategies - expanding from Tampere to Helsinki to Berlin, trying different platforms, adjusting our approach - we couldn't achieve the results either of us wanted. When it became clear we'd run out of fresh ideas, the ethical choice was to be honest about that rather than continue charging you.
Over your two months with us, our team made significant strategic adjustments to optimize your results. We expanded your search radius from Tampere to Helsinki and eventually to Berlin when local matches proved limited. We adjusted your profile multiple times, tested different photo combinations, modified our messaging approach based on cultural feedback, and recommended platform changes. When we suspected shadow-banning, we troubleshot across all four platforms and recommended premium subscriptions. We did begin to see improvement - your match rate increased from 2 to 7 per month in Berlin - but I understand this still fell short of your expectations for actual dates.
You're right about the distinction between marketing statistics and individual results. Our aggregate success rates don't guarantee individual outcomes, especially in challenging markets. While we delivered the contracted 84 hours of service, I understand that fulfilling technical obligations means little without actual dates.
The WhatsApp handoff situation you described was poorly handled, and I apologize. Our policy about not re-engaging after client takeover could have been adjusted here.
Your detailed feedback has been invaluable. Despite the disappointing outcome, I hope you can see that we genuinely tried to act in your best interest, even when it meant advising you not to continue paying us.

Lied about my ethnicity and height just to get matches, they'll DM anyone - even transwomen! I had better matches before paying them.
I couldn't be more dissatisfied with these people - I had documented better matches in Austin before even paying them. I have dozens of matches in NYC but couldn't figure out why Austin was different. They convinced me I'd get at least a date or 2 after one month, but right now Rosalia is emailing me to offer a 20% refund after they lied about my ethnicity and height. She even has the nerve to say most clients use the service for 3-4mo and get matches. Who tf would get a 2nd month after getting no matches in 1mo? They got me zero matches after 6 weeks starting in February and have still been trying after May to get matches, by talking to transwomen and "gain traction."
After 6 weeks I said maybe I just wasn't a good candidate in this city, and mentioned I'd accept a partial refund. All they do is make your profile extremely generic and comment on girls prompts by asking them the most obvious questions about their comments. It is a complete template, run by algorithms. I will post more details on a website when I get a chance, you can just do what they do on your own. I have app and email screenshots to show. Save your money, do not use this bullshit service. Anyone giving good reviews prob just didn't have time to swipe - it's ok for that. Garbage if you think they have an edge on intel.

Avoid at all cost
They basically swipe right and left for you. They talk for you but to be honest it doesn’t sound like you. When you say no women wider than you there will still be women wider than you. You set an upper age limit and you will get matched with people outside that age limit. They count conversations with people who fail to disclose having kids as actual conversations. If the apps haven’t worked for you don’t use their service. Oh and you need to go out and get professional photos and they want to use AI to doctor them up and put you in places you haven’t been. Seems very dishonest. Don’t believe them when they say they have an internal database of other clients, it’s unlikely you will get any matches from them. I got one phone number and the person never responded but hey that counts as a success I guess. My wallet is lighter and no results. Like ordering and paying for a steak and getting an empty cold plate.

Hi Devin,
Rosalia here again from VIDA Select. I appreciate you sharing your experience, though I'm disappointed we weren't able to achieve the results you were looking for.
You're right that we handle the swiping and initial messaging—that's exactly the time-saving service our clients hire us for. Our writers craft messages based on your personality and communication style, though I understand it might not always feel perfectly "you" at first. This is why client feedback during the process matters, and we're always happy to adapt based on your direction.
Regarding matches outside your stated criteria: in rural areas with limited options, we sometimes suggest slight flexibility while keeping your core values (like your Christian faith) as the priority. However, you took over most conversations before our team could properly vet important details like children. Our approach works best when we can execute it as designed, and we weren't given that opportunity here.
We understand professional photography is challenging in rural areas, which is why we offered digital enhancement. We enhance photos professionally to present you in the best light, but we don't fabricate travel photos or create scenarios designed to deceive.
Our internal database does exist and grows as new clients join. While we didn't find internal matches for you during your time with us, this varies greatly by location and timing.
We understand a phone number that doesn't respond is frustrating—this is exactly where our team adds value when allowed to manage follow-through.
As I offered prior to this review, I'm willing to provide significant additional service time at no cost so we can show you what's possible when we handle the process from start to finish. The offer stands.

Do not engage with them not good
The service does not deliver as promised. Essentially they function as a Cyrano ghost writing for the client on multiple online dating applications. They craft your profiles, they edit your photos and then they ghostwrite. Packages start at different levels for different numbers of hours per month that they will be servicing the client. My experience was not what it was hyped to be at the initial interview and intake session. Although they didn't make specific promises they implied that they have an internal database of users that they use in addition to online dating services to find the perfect match for you. I was extremely skeptical because I live in a relatively rural area small Urban population of approximately 380,000 people. They were very enthusiastic that they would be able to deliver within a short period of time. They actually delivered nothing. Almost 1,800 out for the first month, multiple technical difficulties where they were unable to appropriately access the websites. They also failed to tell you up front that there product violates the fair use terms of pretty much every online dating service that does not allow ghost riding. This is strictly forbidden. I was almost banned from one platform because of this. They fail to mention any of this in the initial intake and only when it rears its ugly head later do they come forward. They said yes we violate the terms but we're not malicious in doing so we're genuine and honest in representing you.
Overall it does not appear that they responded to matches timely, it does not appear that the number of hours which I paid for were the number of hours of service that I actually received. The quality of the communication with the matches was subpar. I actually had better success managing everything on my own. They are essentially a very expensive secretarial service that manages online dating accounts. I have not seen any evidence of an internal database of which they spoke in our initial interview, which would match me with potential partners. The only thing I saw was online activity which did not appear to be consistent with the amount of hours that I was paying for and the quality of communication was not what I expected.
If you do not live in a major metropolitan area, the success you experience will probably be no better than what you are currently experiencing managing your own online dating profiles if you are a decent communicator. I do not see any value in this service. Again, they are very nice and courteous however, they did not deliver and there is no value added here in fact, in Brooklyn we would call this a rip off. If they were a solid company they would have a money back policy and I would be getting a refund right now. They did not make good on any of the promises they made or things they alluded to in our intake conversation. $1,800 out of pocket and nothing to show for it. As soon as this review went up somebody contacted me from their customer service department it was the same person that I had sent emails to telling them during my tenure with the organization that I was extremely disappointed in the service and my experience wasn't good. She never reached out to me to discuss until this review went up. She asked what I thought would be a good solution I said a full refund she laughed. That's their customer service for you.
Response from VIDA SelectNov 14, 2025
Hi Don,
Rosalia here—we spoke on the phone. I’m responding here because I need to respectfully address several inaccuracies in your review:
Geographic scope: During your initial consultation, you agreed to search Dallas and Houston and our matchmaking advisor set expectations based on that broad scope. You later restricted us to local-only searches, which fundamentally changed what we could deliver in what you described as a “relatively rural” market.
Communications: The service agreement you signed explicitly states: "VIDA makes no representations as to the ability to perform its services should VIDA not receive full control over Client's matchmaking efforts." You chose to take over all conversations yourself, then blamed us for not delivering results. Additionally, you claim in your review that we "delivered nothing," yet you told your matchmaker you were "balancing more conversations than I can handle right now."
Our recent call: I want to be clear: I absolutely did not laugh when you mentioned wanting a refund. It’s also not true to claim I never reached out, given that I emailed you on October 21st during your active service to address your concerns. On our recent call, you indicated you didn't want to listen, only wanted me to listen to you, and then abruptly ended the conversation before we could discuss solutions.
The profiles we created for you clearly attracted strong interest. I'm glad they're working for you, and we wish you the best in your search.

they didn't even showed up to the call
My UHNW friend mentioned he tried it once. It didn’t work for him, but I thought I’d give it a shot. To book the first call, I had to fill out a bunch of questions on the website, one of which peculiarly asked for my salary. I don’t have a salary since my income is entirely passive from my capital, so I entered something average. I also sent them a link with a detailed description of whom I’m looking for. I believe this might have been the reason they didn’t even show up for the call.
I wanted to reschedule since I never heard from them, but the confirmation email emphasized how much time their specialists spend preparing and asked to respect their time, so I didn’t. Apparently, they didn’t even check that document.
It seems their target audience is 9-to-5 Big Tech workers with poor social skills who fail to get dates because they rely on Tinder. If you have any real social skills or a lifestyle outside that narrow box, this service won’t be helpful.

Hi there,
I'm Rosalia Silva, VIDA's Client Success Manager. I sincerely apologize that your scheduled consultation call was missed. That's completely unacceptable and doesn't reflect our standards.
I've tried to locate your booking in our system but haven't been able to identify your specific appointment. I'd like to investigate what happened and make this right. Please reach out to me directly at [email protected].
I also want to address your broader concerns about our service. We work with a diverse range of professionals—from entrepreneurs and executives to creative professionals and retirees—many with active social lives who value efficiency in dating. Our approach is highly personalized, and we've found success with clients across different personality types and lifestyles. While we can't be the right fit for everyone, we're committed to being transparent during consultations about whether our service aligns with someone's specific situation.

I felt ripped off by VIDA Select
I felt ripped off by VIDA Select. They offered me a "discounted" 3-month trial membership for $3,000. The profiles they wrote for me were good, as was the photo collage they created for the various dating websites they recommended that I join. That was the end of the good stuff, though. My matchmaker was supposed to spend 40 hours per month on my account. I don't think that happened. In 3 months, she found less than a handful of "matches." I felt that the messages the VIDA team wrote were either sarcastic, snarky and/or trite. There were glitches all along the way: trouble getting registered for the websites, not doing things she said she would do and me being "banned" from one site because they said by reading my profile that I'm obviously married (which I am not). I suggest that you stay away from VIDA Select.

I signed up with VIDA Select in Feb…
I signed up with VIDA Select in Feb 2025, paying for their premium matchmaking package, expecting professional and personalized service based on their marketing. Unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. After three months, I was not introduced to a single match, despite assurances of curated, compatible profiles.
The process started with a lengthy intake call, which felt thorough, and of course they make big promises. My assigned matchmakers sent me matches that did not meet my criteria even after long conversations detailing what I was looking for, and follow-up emails and calls were frustrating and unhelpful. I was told matches were being considered but no profiles were ever presented. For the high cost, I expected proactive updates and at least a few introductions, but I received neither.
Even their Client Services Manager was unable to help after I voiced my concerns.
When I raised concerns, the team offered vague explanations about "market challenges" and suggested upgrading to a more expensive package for better results, which felt like an upsell tactic. They should offer a refund for not delivering anything except frustration.
Overall, the service failed to deliver on its promises. I caution others to carefully research before investing such a significant sum with VIDA Select, as my experience yielded zero results and poor customer service.
If VIDA wants to dispute any of the claims I'm making I have all the receipts and communication records. I'm happy to share them with anything that wants to see them.
Response from VIDA SelectSep 18, 2025
Hi Shawn -
Rosalia here, Client Success Manager. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I genuinely understand your disappointment, and I wish things had gone differently for you.
I've carefully reviewed your account, and while I appreciate your feedback, I need to respectfully clarify a few points to ensure accuracy for others reading this review.
Service Timeline: Our records show you paid for one month of premium matchmaking service beginning March 7, 2025 (not three months as mentioned). We actually offered pauses and extensions during your service period at no additional cost while working to address your concerns.
Match Presentations: I can confirm that profiles were presented to you. On May 11, 2025, your matchmaker shared three profiles from our database, which you acknowledged receiving, noting at the time that they helped "gauge your interest." We also did present scouted profiles to you as well, several of which you approved. While these initial matches didn’t all meet your criteria exactly, this feedback process is crucial for refining our search parameters, especially early on in the Matchmaking process.
Communication Improvements: We heard your concerns about your communication with your initial Matchmaker, and that’s why we reassigned you. I was pleased to see your May 11th message to your new Matchmaker: "There's already been a noticeable 10x improvement in communication which I appreciate greatly." We took your feedback seriously and acted on it.
Package Recommendations: Rather than suggesting upgrades, our records show we actually offered renewal options that were lower in both hours and cost than your original package.
I think it’s important to note that our explanations about ‘market challenges’ weren’t vague, but based on demographics information from your geographical area. Your specific religious and political preferences don’t necessarily line up with what the majority of people in your area identify with. Therefore this was our attempt to be realistic about the challenges and the timeframe, as such a search can take more time.
While our service agreement clearly states that results cannot be guaranteed, success typically requires both adequate time and client cooperation with professional recommendations. Most of our successful clients work with us for 3-4 months, as this allows us to truly understand preferences and expand our search effectively.
In your case we did also recommend some search strategies including platform upgrades that would enable filtered searches for your preferred religion, and even faith-specific dating platforms. These could have significantly expanded our search capabilities for your specific preferences, but you declined these recommendations.
I reached out to you on May 19, 2025, hoping to address any remaining concerns, and again after seeing this review. Neither of those emails received a reply. My door remains open if you'd like to discuss this further - you can reach me directly at [email protected].
While I'm sorry we couldn't achieve the results you hoped for in the timeframe available, I appreciate you giving us the opportunity to work with you. We're constantly evolving our processes based on client feedback like yours.
Wishing you all the best in your search for that special someone.
