This is the third lamp I have had to purchase as they keep breaking down and no one can fix. I really like the lamps when they are new and working. I just ordered a new floor lamp and received it yesterday. It is quite different than the previous so maybe it will last longer. I had purchased a tray and had on my old lamp but the tray will not fit this new one which disappoints me very much.

I emailed a question, is there grid diffuser on the V090. Return email said there was a cover, not really the question I asked .
Response from VeriluxJan 8, 2018
Hi Charlie, Thanks so much for reaching out and posting your question here! Our apologies for the misunderstanding. There is not a grid diffuser on the VF09. Instead, there is a cover to help diffuse the light and reduce glare. They are a little different in their design (as one is a grid while the other is a cover), but both serve the same purpose and are located in the same spot. I will reach out to you directly to further help you with your inquiry. Thanks, Michael

Customer service was friendly, answered my questions about a problem with my current unit (after 10 years). At the end I ordered a new lamp with floor stand and an additional bulb.

Fast delivery but wasteful/poor packaging choice. A roughly 1"W x 4"L x .5"H battery was put in a 14W" x 14"L x 1.5"H box and left unsecured due to the small amount of bubble wrap used. Luckily the battery leads were not damaged.
