This platform is "clunky" and hard to operate. I have an amazing teacher on verbling, which is the only reason I keep using it. On a tablet, the "join lesson" button is obscured by another button. To look at the resources that my teacher sends me to prepare for a lesson requires so many work-arounds it's incredible. I get an email saying "you have a message, click here to reply", but when I click the link, I cannot see the message. I have to pull out a laptop to read the message and follow the links my teacher sends, don't even try with a tablet. Also, I use the website on a laptop because it is impossible to use the app on my tablet. This means that I am using a less familiar device which is slower for me. Also, the connection is not always great, skype is lots better. I have used lots of language apps, this is not "easy to use" as advertised. When I book lessons, I have to scroll through the weeks to book several at a time. like, going back to the start for each one, even though I just paid for 5. There is an option for the same time every week, but that is not what I want to do. Overall, every time I use verbling, I wish I didn't.

I have been with Verbling for several months now and can TOTALLY recommend them as, certainly in my case, they have NEVER failed me in as much as: 1). The great assistance that I've always had when using their customer support service (they always reply within 24 hours). 2). The quality of their teachers (of course, I can't comment on all of them but I have used 2 so far and they have been absolutely 1st class! In just a few months I have gone from NOT knowing one word to being able to talk (more or less) for a whole hour!! I've also gone from level A1 (total beginner) to B2 (Upper Intermediate). This, of course, is not from having just a few lessons but lessons DAILY - but I'm already proving to myself that, although there are many other courses available on the internet, for me at least, "conversation" is the BEST and QUICKEST way to learn a language!!!! 3). The quality of their video has always been 1st class too (I would say that they're even better than SK Y P E and, considering that I'm in the UK and my teachers are in Brazil (as I'm learning Portuguese), I'm constantly amazed at the "HD" quality that they provide (audio has also been very good too!). 4). In my case, my teachers have always provided me with "homework" too which they can "physically review" on what Verbling calls a "workspace" - which is basically like you are sharing a "desktop" with them where both of you can write on documents (i.e. share them totally). Also, these documents are permanently available and can be looked at at a later date. 5). Verbling also provides the student (and teacher too) a way of creating and adding words, phrases, notes, etc to a "Vocabulary" which can, at a later date, be used for revision type exercises (without the teacher). Well, I apologise for writing so much but I am TOTALLY delighted with everything so far with Verbling and, although I've not used other companies, I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND them to any student wanting to seriously learn a new language. Oh, and to finish this long review (sorry!!), they also charge a MINIMAL amount (it's around £5 here in the UK) to any student for a TRIAL with any teacher that they may chose - it's only a 30 min "lesson" but will give the student an insight to how the teacher is and whether he/she would be suitable. And very finally, I can assure the reader that I'm NOT employed by Verbling nor am I being paid anything at all for this review - it's 100% my personal opinion - nobody else!!!! I'm very happy with verbling, for me it is the perfect way to improve my level of english or to learn a new language.

The platform works mostly totally fine, there are a few bugs here and there that are odd though. Reverting changes in prices for students or showing total different fees to them, the chat bar not being accessible if the student uses a long camera. But I am very happy with the services overall.

In general Verbling is a platform I like. Having the opportunity to chose a personal language teacher no matter where the teacher is located and where I am located and not tight to a fixed and closed time is something I love. However, I thing that still the audio and video quality is not good enough to have a good experience. I don't usually have smooth lessons due to that.
