VerblingReviews of verbling.com

Love the new mobile app, I can contact my teacher on the go, keeps me honest and on time but where are the flash cards? I've been using Verbling to learn French. Chloe is an awesome teacher if you are looking for French, highly recommend . She keeps me sharp for business trips where I have to use French. I can let her know what I need to focus on and get corrections. It's been a game changer for me.

Verbling provides an affordable platform to practice spoken English with native speakers; however, there are things that Verbling needs to improve: 1. Verbling needs to have a tool to export the chat or conversation of each lesson. Currently, there is none. 2. Verbling needs to provide a loyalty program that the more you buy, the more you save. The current 5 or 10 lesson discounts are not enough. Maybe, if a student can purchase 50 lessons, the discount will be better. 3. Verbling needs to have a tool that to fix a repetitive student's error either in his speech or his writing. If a student has taken many lessons and has the same problem as the first lesson, Verbling is not doing things right.

Verbling is really great! This online system helps my kid to learn English and the outcome is really really good.

I've been using Verbling for a little over 1 year now. The Spanish teachers on the site are awesome. What I like most is that I can with confidence find a teacher that fits my schedule. At first I was nervous about chatting with a stranger in Spanish and afraid of my mistakes, that quickly disappeared. When they made the switch to their own video platform, my teacher and I had a few hiccups in the beginning with the tech but are now really enjoying it. The advantage is I have all my materials from lesson to lesson in one place now. Before, it was scattered in Google as docs and messages with my teachers. I was so glad they launched a mobile app. My one complaint with the app (and reason for 4 stars) is they didn't include Flashcards. It is available on the site, but not the app, which makes no sense as I would use it more on the go than I would on my laptop.

Like how they interview and audit all of their teachers so the quality is very high.

My first lesson was canceled a minute before it began. The instructor said he could not connect. 70% of the rest of my verbling lessons were also spent trying to establish a connection. We would go from verbling to hangout to Skype and back again. Although the instructors were all pleasant none had the slightest ability to determine my level and build from there. When some minimal barely acceptable level of connection was established, each instructor spent too much time asking about my goals and then proceeded to do what I'm sure they were planning on using regardless of my answers. Each showed script that was inappropriately difficult and would make references to different letters and words without the technology to point to the word or letter in question. Imagine sitting next to an instructor with a 50 year old textbook without the ability to even point to what they are talking about. This was a complete waste of money and time.
