Good Group of Instructors
Most of the instructors are qualified, organized and diligent. Some are absolutely excellent and a few miss the mark. You may have to sample a bit to find someone who matches your goals. One challenge which has come up multiple times for me is that many professors join Verbling and offer an attractive price, but it ends up being more of an introductory fee. Soon after you start with them, they raise their price. In fact, I have contacted teachers before starting with them and asked if they intended to raise their price, and without exception, they've said they would not be raising their price. Nevertheless, they raised their price shortly after I committed to studying with them. It's an understandable that they want to add to their student rolls and want to charge what the market will bear, but it is very disruptive. The key to language studies is consistency and that includes being able to study with the same teacher for an extended period of time. Despite this issue, Verbling is an excellent place for the serious student to develope a second language.
