Long Day Excursion Was Worth It --just be prepared
I was concerned about taking an excursion that was not planned from Carnival. But it was very easy to find the tour and the guide was waiting. I can't recall the names of the guide or the driver but both were excellent. This was an excursion in Naples to the Amalfi coast. White knuckle driving but our driver did very well. I didn't realize we'd have an option to take a 40 minute boat excursion in Amalfi. We didn't have 15 Euro to buy the ticket. The bus and a bit bumpy and between it and the winding roads my stomach was upset and we had to find Dramamine for way back. Then onto Pompei. Good tour guide there as well. Got back in plenty of time to get back on ship. Just beware that if you are prone to motion sickness, pack dramamine, have 15 Euro to take a boat ride and know that walking in Pompeii is challenging.
