To whom it may concern and it should, my friend who adopted a cat from Atlanta Humane Society was given a list to follow up on with local VCA's. We went to terrell mill animal hospital with our voucher of $350.00 very generious yes but used up in one visit! we waited over 30 minutes to be seen. The Vet was inexperienced looks over the cat, confirms ear infection left room... Vet assistant comes back with 3 medications. My friend is a senior! A shot administered to the poor kitty would have alleviated the stress added to my friend! Instead of giving the cat a shot she was sent home with medications to administer on her own!!! They didnt even demonstate the best way to do that. The ear infection is back and although she needs a new Vet at least we know her cat will get better care then at that VCA. A Vet with more experienced as well as thoughtful, caring & considerate!
Its great that ATL Humane Society offers vouchers but the partnership with VCA is a rip off!

Horrible people. Horrible experience.
I was referred to VCA over an emergency with my dog. When I got there, they didn't even seem to know why I was there, even though the referring vet had called them. I told them it was an emergency..... the four receptionists just sat there, uncaring. Even though they weren't busy, I sat in the waiting room with my dog for 45 minutes so one of them could create a new patient account...really??????. We then went to a triage room where again, after another 45 minute wait the tech didn't seem to understand why we were there. She took notes and left. An HOUR later, someone came in saying we had an outstanding bill that had to be paid before they could help us. I had no outstanding balance (remember, they had to create a new patient account)....but since it was an emergency and I was really scared for my dog, I gave her my credit card and said fine, charge me the $600 even though in my opinion it was extortion. An hour later she came back with my credit card, said she hadn't put it through yet, and we could leave and go somewhere else if we wanted to without paying the $600. WE WERE THERE FOR AN EMERGENCY for pete's sake. Then she said I'd also have to pay another $700 plus to cover the estimate for services. I paid it. They took blood. 45 minutes later, a tech came in and said they had to take my dog to the back. I asked why, and she said "I don't know; she's not my patient" (no one there seemed to realize my dog was NOT a girl). It turns out they needed more blood. They basically did a CBC and nothing else. Another hour later, the result was my dog needed meds for an infection. When I was being checked out, the "cashier" said I hadn't paid anything yet......I showed her my receipt and she still argued with me about it then finally went in back then came back and said everything was paid. I paid ANOTHER $450 for the meds. Another tech went through the discharge orders and couldn't even answer any simple questions that we had. The vet who saw my dog should have done that. I would never go back there. An absolutely, inexcusably hideous experience. They care about money, not your beloved pet. They didn't give a damn about my dog and me....that's for sure. A disgusting lack of care and empathy. They shouldn't even be in business.
I read the visit writeup VCA sent me...they described my dog as "unkempt". He is a clean, well cared for, extremely well loved labradoodle....he just doesn't have a prissy haircut, you arrogant snots.

Avoid VCA Animal Hospital in Iselin NJ at all costs
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE... at the VCA Animal Hospital in Iselin NJ. Avoid VCA Animal Hospital in Iselin NJ at all costs.
We certainly did not anticipate in being ignored. Our dog was suffering, and they did nothing but tell stories on how well the dog was doing, inconsiderate, unsympathetic doctors and customer service representatives.
Two days at this hospital, $4,412.84 total. Left the hospital without speaking to the veterinarian, with the following recommendation:
“Please make a recheck appointment with your primary veterinarian if concerns arise.
Recommend rechecking CBC in one week to ensure that neutrophil count is improving or sooner if concerned.” The dog was not able to walk or eat, she was half paralyzed. How was the dog going to take the medicine in chewable form? We called the hospital with our concerns only to be treated on a condescending and unsympathetic manner. If this was their response to us, just imagine how they might treat the helpless animals! Avoid VCA Animal Hospital in Iselin NJ at all costs.
Our dog “Jessie” died, she was our best friend and she deserved better.

VAMPIRE COMPANY
Not only is this a vampire company they suck you dry for ONE PILL! $41 -The Vet is a newbie (BTW) go back to your country! Exploitation is not appreciated in the U.S. The so-called office manager is a JOKE! Chased us out as I must have offended her minions! When I said, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" I haven't the patience for incompetence or attitudes! I Hope VCA never gets sued as this idiot (Heather the Beast) thinks the cement outside by the parking lot is their property!! lol! while just trying to show off! Threatens to call the police! I said go ahead! There's my license plate! Going to a much more experienced and successful Vet! This is the new office up by CalState-- As the practice on 40th street in San Bernardino closed. Don't waste your time at this office on west Northpark. My cat is better - not PUKING! Without you or your empty office. Good luck!! Useless is putting it nicely! So glad I am not at the mercy of you thieves!

They kill pets to get commission fees. AVOID VCA AT ALL COSTS.
A VCA vet couldn’t recognize a life threatening emergency, and told me to wait for an unnecessary MRI overnight to begin treatment. My pet died awfully, waiting, when they should have been at an Emergency Hospital.
VCA pays their commission vets a very low salary. They will kill your pet, rather than give up a penny of the commission money.

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE..
DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE..
On December 10th we took our 11 year old Chihuahua into the emergency care at VCA Aurora because she was drinking excessive water and was unable to keep it down and also had not eaten over 24 hours. She is also on seizure medication. We arrived at about 9 pm, we were happy to see they were not busy.We explained why we were their and they immediately took her back to an exam room for evaluation. Nearly an hour passed and they came out and got us from the waiting room and brought us back to an exam room, where we waited until Dr. Michael Houfek came in to tell what needs to be done . He said the concern was that she was dehydrated and one of her pupils was enlarged leading him to believe she may have a brain tumor or cancer or she may have had a stroke. He then presented us a treatment plan saying she would need blood work, her kidneys and liver checked as well as an ultrasound and MRI that would would have to wait until Monday, 3 days later, she would also need to be hospitalized for 48 hours. the total estimate was well over $6000.00 which they would need half to start the treatment. Michael Houfek also said the other option was to euthanize her because in his words" she will not be the same dog as yesterday "( we brought in a lively dog who was dehydrated, and all of a sudden she is deteriorating this quick, I don't buy that ). We asked that since she is dehydrated that they start her on fluids, Michael Houfek was very negative and said that she is declining and that would not change the outcome. At this point no tests were run , the only thing done was a catheter was put into her leg. He then told us her glucose level was 80 and said her kidneys and liver may be failing. We then asked if we can do the basics, blood work and urinalysis so that we may have a better understanding of what is going on with her so that we can make a determination of what our next steps may be. We then asked she be put on fluids at which time Michael Houfek said they will work up a new estimate, we again asked to have fluids started and he left the room obviously annoyed. Another 45 minutes has passed, during this whole time we have not seen our dog, as she was somewhere in another room. Now Michael Houfek sent in a young tech to go over the new estimate nearly $3000 ( although very high priced I am not complaining about the cost , I was just trying to get some answers with the least amount spent so we can make a decision on our next steps.) We asked again if fluids have been started because before Michael Houfek left the room earlier we agreed that he was going to place fluids under her skin to help with the dehydration. Now 1 more hour has passed and he sent in an older woman holding our chihuahua away from her body and said that the doctor wanted you to see the condition she was in, to us she looked very scared all we kept hearing from them is she will not improve but at the same time they keep pushing the treatment plan, this tells me they care nothing about our pet and they only care about how much money they can get us to agree to. Before the tech left with our dog again , we had asked again why the fluids have not been started before she was able to leave we stopped her and said we would like to see her receive the fluids and to get Michael Houfek into the room to do it. ( after over 3 hours emotions were starting to take over ) At this point we were there over 3 1/2 hours and still nothing has been done except a catheter was put into her front leg. We had already agreed to the blood work and fluids so we can take her home. Michael Houfek was very negative the whole time and my emotions got the better part of me , at this point Michael Houfek ordered us out of the building. As I was walking to my car I noticed the catheter was still in my baby. I went back in to have it removed. I brought my dear lively Chihuahua to the emergency room because she can not keep water down and that she had not eaten over a day and we left about 4 hours later with a pet that looked 10 times worse then she got there. We then decided to go straight to Plainfield Animal Hospital, while in route our beloved Mercedes had passed away. ( we certainly hope they did not do anything to harm our baby. The last statement Michael Houfek said to us was to get out of the building I have other patients who have approved treatment. ( maybe a HIPPA violation). The only reason we came here was it was much closer than Plainfield. Boy oh boy did we learn a lesson. I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone to come here due to the unprofessionalism displayed by Michael Houfek. We honestly believe that the inaction of Michael Houfek by not giving fluids killed our dog. DO NOT BRING YOUR BELOVED PET HERE.

No compassion
This is specifically about the VCA Animal Hospital in Tempe, AZ on Broadway Road. They did not provide proper follow-up care when my cat's infection resisted treatment. After I called 3 times, a technician finally called me back and was unable to answer any of my questions! She basically blew off my concerns. The vet had told me this was a serious infection and the tech acted like it was no big deal. I've been a customer 8 yrs, spent $296 on this appt and they can't be bothered to do proper follow-up? I was told spaying my cat would fix the problem They wanted to charge me $850 to spay vs $350 elsewhere!
