This has been the worst experience of my life VCA Animal Speciality & Emergency Center PLEASE BEWARE My cat Barnaby amd I were treated like garbage. They gave me no clear diagnosis and prescribed me a bunch of unecessary medication that I had no way of giving it to my fur baby. However, when the Dr asked me if I was capable of administering the medication she assured me it would be in liquid form but was not. Of course i did not realize it wasnt liquid until I got home and had to return to get no help but the run around. It gets worse they got something all over my cats fur and whatever it smells horrible amd will not wash off. I cant believe the imcompitance of this place
I am disgusted by there bed side manner and advice anyone to stay clear of this terrible place

This is for VCA southeast
This is for VCA southeast. I just got out of the hospital and one of my dogs is due for a heart worm test and heartworm injection. i have been coming here for years and am aware of how expensive they are. so I don't have a lot of money now so called to see how much it was going to cost so I would know when I would have enough money and could then make the appointment. the lady on the phone said she had no way of knowing that. are you you kidding me?!?!?! I even asked for a ball park and she said no. she said it goes by weight, well I told her I know what my dog weighs and she still said no. so I WILL be finding a new vet......what a joke in this day and age. so long VCA and all your high prices.

Dysfunctional staff, Way to afraid of the work that they are required to be available for.
You just lost a long time regular Customer for your attitude towards Me and my Gentil and People loving Dog Mindy. I have never had any problems with any of my dogs Behavior in the past at this Monte Vista VCA. At least not until Dr Bivens and your crew Scared the heck out of her and Myself. Very unprofessional on your part. I highly recommend you LOOK ElseWare for the comfort of your pet and yourself. So Sad that any vet could be so cold towards Animals and there Owners.

Unfortunately I had to Euthanatize my dog spice as her collapsed trachea was getting worse, causing her to faint while walking around. The process at the hospital itself was ok. Dr Barrett was amazing, however the payment process left much to be desired.
Prior to Spice passing they advised the cost was $740, to which I accepted. After Spice had passed, I paid and left. Lo and behold, I'm contacted a few days later advising there is still a balance of $250 outstanding and the cost had actually been almost $1,000.00.
While this isn't the end of the world, I didn't appreciate being told that I had to settle the remainder within the next 15 minutes otherwise Spice's aftercare (cremation & urn) could not continue. I explained that I would be fine to pay the remainder when I come to pick up the urn in a few weeks however this wasn't good enough for them, despite making the error. The only thing they had to say was "sorry". It's already a difficult time without getting this slap in the face.
I won't be returning in the future and encourage you to look elsewhere.

VCA La Mirada Animal Hospital
Years ago I went to the old office and didn't stay with but couldn't remember why so when I needed a vet I thought I'd give them a second chance. What a mistake. If you will notice there are no veterinarian reviews online, they don't like to be reviewed. And when you talk to management they have an answer for everything, they will dispute you. They have been trained well in that department.
Dr. Marilyn Girgis couldn't get enough tests, $$$$. Dr. Karen Dorairaj-Camacho told me when I brought my dog in with pancreatitis that I should call Royal Canin about the punctured can, that was the second vet that told me to do that, she said they are really good about helping out with bills so I called and sent everything in and waited two and a half months, they were going to call both vets, didn't happen, then emailed and said nothing was wrong with the food, so I asked for a letter stating what happened, was told since food was not tested couldn't do. Company wouldn't even acknowledge can, so now I'm a lier. The bill between two hospitals was $3165.05. Big conflict of interest since Anaheim Hills Pet Clinic sells Royal Canin and VCA is owned by Mars Company who also owns Royal Canin.
Hospital stay means twelve hours in twelve hours home, if there was a problem when they were home you had to take to another ER. They gave no phone number or ER to use, just left you hanging.
Once you pay, last time $1600, for an appointment if you call a couple days later about the same problem they will not get back to you for close to twenty-four hours, they want you to make another appointment. Happened twice even after talked to management. Girl I talked to was so smug.
While traveling around town and talking to dog trainers and clients of other VCA's have not heard anything positive about VCA. Even Costco pharmacist asked me what was wrong with this place. Management told me just a mixup. They sure have a lot. When I went to pay off Care Club they had two prescriptions refilled and one charged that I didnt evrn know about.
By the way they push prescription dog food which is not regulated, one in particular, Royal Canin which is owned by Mars Company which also owns VCA.
The bottom line is the bottom line. $$$$.

Terrible experience with uncaring doctors at VCA
I went to Valley VCA in Indio, CA because my dog was struggling to breathe. Spent almost all night there waiting for results of chest x-ray. They didn't hesitate to charge me $950 to diagnose her problem as collapsing trachea and bronchitis. Then, they REFUSED to treat her or let me know what to do about it. Medical director Dr. Baxter was RUDE and kept saying the same thing - to call my normal vet - who happened to be on vacation for 11 more days which I WHY I went to VCA in the first place. I'm very lucky my dog survived - no thanks to VCA Valley

no notice: abandoned all patients!!
The Encinitas location shut down and NEVER notified us so when we had a sick cat had no one new in place! This we had to pay ER prices and had no trusted doc to guide the care or provide outpatient basics. This is immoral and shows they do not care one bit about the animals just the money!!!

Mars Inc's VCA clinics are the worst !
Mars Inc should not have been allowed to aquire VCA or affiliates. This was purely a strategic move for money and has wreaked havoc on both the U.S and Canadian markets .. VCA ( Mars ) took a very opportunistic approach and gobbled up many local vet clinics for next to nothing during the pandemic and continues to extract every nickle it can while initiating oppresssive expense controls including insane reduction of hours of operations of these local clinics until most originating vets simply leave the practice altogether. Stay away from Mars pet foods and the VCA Clinics !!
