Vasco v4 translator, Better than Google Translate
I had a Vasco V4 translator that was malfunctioning. It is possible it was damaged during shipping. After system resets did not resolve the issue, Vasco replaced the device. Their customer service is commendable. A tip: Scan your purchase documents, and keep the box the Vasco is shipped in. There is a generous two-year warranty. For live conversations, the Vasco is much better than getting out my phone and activating Google Translate. It simply works better with less fumbling and scrolling. Living abroad, it's an essential tool. Highly recommended.

So far, what we are experiencing is that the translation is slow and the device doesn't always respond. Also, it doesn't block out the ambient noise in the room, so if there are other conversations or activities going on, the device does not translate. It has to be perfectly quiet, which is not practical.

Hello Renee. Thank you for your feedback. The device has to deliver translations in less than a second after you finish speaking. If the Internet connection is spotty, the device may work more slowly. For noises, it may be very sensitive to a human voice, because it has to capture a human voice without mistakes. Therefore, if someone speaks loudly right next to you, the device may capture that voice after capturing yours. Other noises should not influence the quality and speed of the translation. Dear Bohdan, Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, Vasco does not allow you to modify its software or change glossaries. There is also no learning system based on your input. All that isn't allowed due to data privacy concerns and the efficiency of our language models. Every change influences the entire language model and may decrease the accuracy. I am sorry you didn't like that; however, we are not advertising our devices as customizable. If you have any more questions, please get in touch with our customer service.

No nouns' articles in German in option "Learning"
Vasco V4 does not translate correctly between German and Lithuanian, and vice versa. But the most significant disadvantage of the "Learning" option is that when you start learning German words, the nouns are without articles. In German articles, the most important ones are missing in Vasco V4 they are missing. This is totally unacceptable.

Limited functionality
The device is basically limited for our country. The internet works inconsistently and the device does not do well with noise blocking. Also, it actually recommends buying more of their products (earpieces) to make it function at the best quality.

Hello Jesika. Thank you for sharing your feedback. The Internet connection is limited to what our operators can offer. I don't know the country you are using the device in, but in the US, we work with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. We have a system switching providers if the service they provide is not good enough, but still, there can be places where the cell service to all devices is limited. Vasco Translator V4 shouldn't have any issues with reducing the background noise. If your device has any issues with that, please contact our support team to make sure everything is fine. We test those devices constantly, and even with live music played, it still captures everything without mistakes. Therefore, your device may need the attention of our technicians. Our earpieces can be connected with Vasco Translator V4, but will only add earbud-to-earbud translation, not improve the quality of the translation. Vasco Translator E1, the earbuds, are a separate device that is not required to use the hand-held device, and don't add anything to the quality or accuracy of Vasco Translator V4. What's even more, you can pair Vasco Translator V4 with any other headset via Bluetooth to hear the translation.

Need improvement
Well built, but the performance very poor slow translations. Good idea needs a lot of work to be a leader with the translation equipment. There are other brands with similar product on the market that are much better and cheaper.
