Google Translate is Better
The sales person misrepresented the truth about the Vasco Q1 being able to translate Japanese offline. I asked him specifically can the Q1 do this as I am leaving for Japan shortly. He said yes and that all languages will be available offline by the end of the year. Currently, only a handful of languages are available offline and Japanese is not one of them. Too late for me. I also tested the Q1 versus Google Translate using a Japanese TV show with subtitles. The Q1 could not keep up and Google Translate, a free app did a better job of translating. I hope that you get your act together. If the offline languages are not available as promised by Q127, I am returning the unit. I am disappointed that free app can do a better job that this expensive unit.

The device translates very poorly and cannot clone voices as advertised; it misinterprets sentences spoken into the microphone. It is definitely heavily overrated.
Response from vasco-translator.comJul 20, 2026
Hello Adam. Thank you for sharing your feedback. Regarding the voice cloning feature, we need a bit more information to help you. Translation accuracy is our top priority, and we constantly test it. If the device misinterprets more than 1 to 5% of captured words, then something is not working, and we need to further clarify this. Our customer team will contact you ASAP to help you.

I purchased Q1/E1 combo; not working for us
I purchased Q1/E1 combo. Q1 reads periods as "interogatory period" or something like that. Slows down conversation. CSR initially said hardware problem. Now havent heard back. Likely to return item. Q1/E1 appears to be programmed to shut down after 15-20 minutes. Hard to tell because on IOS it is difficult not to hit the speaker/on/off button unless the ipad is sitting face up on a table and nobody touches it. Not our real world environment.

Dear Ron, We appreciate your feedback. Our customer service was in touch with you, trying to help, but at some point, we haven't heard back from you. We are more than happy to continue the conversation to help you solve existing issues. None of the devices is programmed to shut down, as long as you keep using them. However, it is not possible to customize our software and adjust it to the way you wish to use it. We are also not able to offer you the features of other devices on our E1 earbud, like a call translator. Our team will do its best to assist you and help, but we are not able to make the customizations you asked for.

The translator maybe cool however it doesn’t come with a plug to charge. I’ve contacted the company multiple times to see if I could purchase a plug since it doesn’t fit a normal phone charger plug but have yet to get a response from the company.
Response from vasco-translator.comDec 15, 2025
Dear Terri, Thank you for sharing your experience. Indeed, the charger is not included in the set. I am sorry that you missed this information on our website, but it's clearly shown on the product page. The cable included in the set is the USB-C cable, and it's a standard charging socket for all modern smartphones. Our customer support will contact you to help choose the right charger.
