We had nothing but hassle and incompetence from Van Dykes. Ordered a new door lock set and our locksmith asked if there was a different option available. We called and talked to customer service, who said they would check and get back to us. Never heard back. Called again, said they would have a supervisor call us. Nothing. We also ordered a brass kick plate and mail slot. The mail slot showed up and the brass plate didn’t. Waited a couple weeks, still nothing. Then customer service told me it had shipped with the mail slot and we accepted delivery, even though that package weighed far less than a brass kick plate would. Took multiple calls and several people who didn’t know what they were doing before it was fixed. I will never order from Van Dykes again.

Bad customer service. The faucet I ordered took about ten times longer to arrive than I was told it would, and each time I called to ask about it I had to start at the beginning of the story, endure long holds and then be told in a surly manner that it was backordered or something. No apologies. In fact, I always felt like they thought I was being unreasonable for wanting the item that I had ordered and wondering where it was.

This is just a middleman. They have poor customer service. If you need to return a defective product they contract the actual manufacturer and refuse to refund their exhorbitant shipping. Takes forever. Avoid.

I sent back something that didn't work and insured it pd. $20. S/h they said they got and then they said they didnt..They owe me close to $300. I haven't gotten it yet.

This company will spam you for the rest of your life. "Unsubscribe" means nothing. Every single weekday you'll have a new email... forever. Even after contacting customer service, the spam continues.

Although VanDyke's offers many hard to find items for my old school style, they are not helpful when it comes to detail. I have had several failed attempts at purchasing items because the customer service experts were completely unknowledgeable or unwilling to provide me with needed information. very very frustrating.

My order of about 10 knobs came from three different suppliers with three different return addresses. I had to return two of the packages and had a whale of a time trying to get the correct return address. One package was returned to me because Van Dykes had given me the wrong return address and the people I sent it to could not accept it. I don’t think I was ever refunded for the final package. I just gave up and will certainly NEVER shop again from Van Dykes.

$4 item, $15 shipping. Nope , time to grow up. Love your products, hate your shipping.
