After some terrible and traumatizing experiences with Bolt and Greyhound (don't even mention Megabus and the Chinatown buses), I decided to give Vamoose a try. I've taken a total of 3 rides with them so far. Positives: 1) Great customer service 2) I love the guys who manage the boarding process and handle the bags; always friendly and courteous 3) The drop-off and pick-up location is much more convenient than Bolt's and Megabus' which is all the way over by the West Side Highway. Cons: 1) Limited schedule 2) On all 3 of my rides, the drivers took strange routes out of DC and into DC. What should be a 4.5 to 5-hour long ride took 5.5 to 6 hours. 3) The wi-fi didn't work on any of the buses I took.

There has never been an intro, comments re noise level, cell use, etc etc when they are not present. Bathroom has also not been as well maintained (alcohol rub materials). Driving has always been safe and respectful, luggage is always promptly available on arrival

We left right on time and arrived exactly 4 hours later. We were lucky with the traffic. It was a real pleasure to leave close to home and arrive in the middle of NYC at noon.

The buses are clean and they run on time.The drivers(and all other staff people)are polite,friendly,and skilled.What more do you want from any form of transportation?

Many friends talked very highly of the Vamoose Bus experience, and I agree with them. Very organized from ordering the tickets on-line, to the person checking us in at the bus stop, to the baggage handlers, and a clean environment - both inside and out. All the personnel were friendly. The drive to NYC was very smooth, on-time and we felt safe. However, the drive back the driver was more "horn happy" with beeping at vehicles while driving down the highway at 65 miles per hour. One situation is the driver needed to get in the right lane but there was a car there so instead of waiting until the car passed or the bus driver slowing down to get behind the car, the driver beeped at the car several times for them to move along. Suggestions for riders: Arrive early if you have a preference as to where you want to sit. Usually by 30 min before departure, long line has already been created. Also bring a coat for the inside temperature is very cold.

3 pm bus from Bethesda to NYC was an hour late. Updates were confusing and driver tried to avoid traffic by taking many alternate routes. It was concerning at times as didn't know where we were. My trips are usually much smoother.

Of all the bus companies between DC and New York, this is my favorite. The buses always have wifi and plugs and they are timely.
