I am filing this complaint to warn other consumers about the serious issues I have experienced with United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM). My mortgage forbearance has been handled with repeated mistakes, privacy concerns, and conduct that appears to violate both federal and Texas debt‑collection laws. Throughout my hardship forbearance, UWM representatives have given inconsistent information, failed to follow required CFPB servicing rules, and continued to call me daily even though my account was in an approved assistance status. Under federal law, borrowers in forbearance are not to be treated as delinquent, and collection calls are not permitted. Under Texas Finance Code §392, repeated daily calls are considered harassment. Despite this, UWM continued contacting me as if I were behind on payments, ignoring the protections that apply during a hardship forbearance. Their customer support says one thing, then does the opposite. The lack of compliance, transparency, and respect for consumer rights has been alarming. Based on my experience, I strongly urge consumers to be cautious when dealing with UWM. Their practices during my forbearance have been inefficient, misleading, and in my view, unlawful.
