Our decision to cancel was treated with respect and understanding. This product is not right for everyone but worth considering if you are prepared to commit to a certain style of holiday. UVC is a holiday time share working within Hyatt and other brands. The product is basically an up front deposit to purchase future discounted hotel stays and cruises around the world on a subscription contract from 5 to 30 years. Some reviews here look awful but you need to understand what you are buying and the Ts&Cs of the contract. You also have 5 days after signing to cancel if you so chose with a full no quibble refund. Is the selling a bit high pressure - yes a bit (I would say assertive and enthusiastic) do they lie - not really, but you need to ask searching questions (which we did) and got straight answers (mostly). We signed, paid a deposit and were given a couple of free spa days at our hotel and an upgrade (thank you). The next day we went through the contract with a fine toothcomb and did extensive research on the properties we would be entitled to use. We determined that we would be no better off (with our pattern of vacation) than booking our vacations on our own and we would be locked into UVC deals for 30 years. This is not necessarily a bad thing - if you are a young-ish family with extended members and friends, enjoy staying in hotels in branded resorts in Latin America, The Mediterranean or Asia, are flixible on dates and go on at least 2 or 3 vacations a year - this deal could be great for you. We politely declined the next day went back to the sales office explained our position and the UVC manager was entirely professional and understanding. He immediately accepted our cancellation and assured us a full refund would be completed with 5 working days (they did it in two). In summary, UVC is not a scam, but you need to assure yourself that the product is suited for your needs - for many thousands it is.

I've been a member for three years. I've booked over four vacations through UVC using premier nights and just now booked my free stay in Secrets Papagayo in Costa Rica for December. During the first two years, I took advantage of the Hotel Discount affiliation program made available to us. I was getting deeply discounted deals on my local hotel stays. After the program expired, I didn't renew but decided to continue my UVC membership. Every stay has been fantastic. They make everything possible, even curate for special events, like anniversary or birthday celebrations. + Now, down to the money. If you are not an AVID traveler, this program is not for you! The way I see it, I am paying the membership for the experience. Booking is always accessible over the phone, and pick-up services are seamless. I traveled in 2021, right when COVID was going strong. I had booked a stay in Cancun and contracted COVID on my flight. The hotel was super accommodating. They offered me a free stay to quarantine five days after my booking expired. I was offered all their food and beverage amenities without restrictions. My breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including alcoholic beverages! Obviously, I had to remain in my room until their Doctor cleared me. My friend, on the other hand, who booked her stay with another resort, didn't share the same experience. She was offered a complimentary stay up to three days but was given food of their choosing served on paper plates!! Final thoughts, is it worth it? It all depends on your wants; if you want to travel to great places at a discount, then yes! This program is for you. If you are a member, I recommend searching the pricing on their competitor's list before you book. I did find better pricing on Priceline once. I called and emailed the pricing screenshot to the email provided on the contract, and they lowered my cost by 15%. No fuss, no jumping through hoops; it was easy.
