Resolution
My anniversary stay at Dreams Curaçao was deeply disappointing, and the way Hyatt and Unlimited Vacation Club have handled my complaint has only added to that frustration. The initial room was not up to expectations, the anniversary banner was missing, and the service fell short. Most concerning, our air conditioning did not cool properly for multiple nights. Fans were provided, but that did not resolve the problem. The air conditioner later began leaking, and maintenance suggested another room transfer. By then, we were checking out the following day, and I did not want to spend more of our vacation moving rooms. This was supposed to be a special anniversary trip. Instead, we spent part of it dealing with uncomfortable accommodations, maintenance problems, and the inconvenience of trying to get them resolved. After I raised these concerns, I was offered three nights at the same resort. I explained that, given our experience, I did not want to return. The alternative offered was only 20,000 World of Hyatt points, which I do not consider comparable to the original three-night offer. From my perspective, neither Hyatt nor Unlimited Vacation Club has taken meaningful accountability for what happened. Offering a return to the property where we had these problems, followed by an alternative that does not feel equivalent, has left me feeling dismissed rather than supported. I am asking for a fair resolution: three nights at another comparable resort or enough points to cover a comparable stay elsewhere. While some staff members were kind and helpful, that does not erase the problems we experienced or the disappointing response afterward. I expected both Hyatt and UVC to take ownership and make a meaningful effort to restore our confidence.
