UHC now requires me to get a referral from my primary care doctor in order to go to a follow up appt with my cardiologist. The (backwards) elohssa who thought this up probably doesn’t have to make near as many appts as I do. UHC should fire that idiot and replace him with a robot, which would probably be smarter than he is. I made a call today and changed to Humana never to return to UHC. UHC is in trouble because they are run by idiots.

I only rated this one star in order to write this complaint. I am a SMI designated client with medicaid. I have had nothing but problems since changing from my old insurance. It took 4 months to get my cpap with daily calls. I have had to file several grievances because after telling a customer rep I am SMI she hung up on me. I got an apology from United saying this rep will get more training. Yeah, that's not going to happen. I filed a grievance on my case worker who never helped when asking monthly for autism/ad/hd testing. I called a rep to change the case worker. Was promised a new one would contact me within 10 days. Nothing. Last week I got a call from the same case worker. I went to the portal asking why this case worker called me. They said there wasn't even a change put it. I had to demand this case worker never call me again. I have been disconnected from portal reps. A grievance against my doctor that I reported to the AHCA and Dept of Health. They're supposedly taking care of that. A grievance on how United has treated me. I have called daily since July 7th about a prescription issue. Promised call backs from reps who say they're fighting for me. No call backs. Crickets. I have reported United to the AHCA too. They're investigating. This is an awful insurance company. Look at all the complaints and take them seriously. I've had reps call and hang up on me when I answer the phone. That was supposedly taken care of by a supervisor. I have had to learn insurance lingo that I shouldn't even have to know. One rep wouldn't call my pharmacy and gave me the NDC code to give to the pharmacy. Disgusting company. Throw the whole United in the trash and save your sanity.

⭐ Do Your Math Before Choosing…
⭐ Do Your Math Before Choosing UnitedHealthcare Dental Insurance — My Experience
I am extremely frustrated with my experience with UnitedHealthcare Dental, and I am writing this review because I want other consumers to do the math before choosing a dental insurance plan.
In September 2024, I needed to purchase dental insurance, so I took the time to shop around and compare plans. One of the most important things I wanted was a plan that would pay 100% both in-network and out-of-network.
I chose UnitedHealthcare because I believed I had found exactly what I was looking for. When I received my insurance card, it said “No Network – 100%.” That was a major reason I felt comfortable choosing this plan.
I had been using an in-network dentist without any major problems. Unfortunately, this year my dentist moved, so I had to find another dentist who was closer to me. I went to the new dentist with my UnitedHealthcare insurance card, believing I had the out-of-network coverage I had specifically chosen and paid for.
Then came the surprise.
The dentist's total charge was $479.
UnitedHealthcare paid only $138.
That left me with a bill of $341 to pay out of my own pocket.
I pay $47.67 every month, which is $572.04 per year in insurance premiums.
So I started doing the math.
I have already paid $572.04 in premiums, and when I needed the insurance for a $479 dental service, UnitedHealthcare paid only $138, leaving me responsible for another $341.
This made me seriously question the value of the insurance. If I had taken that $47.67 every month and put it into a savings account, I would have had my own money available to pay for dental care — without wondering what the insurance company would actually cover.
This is the lesson I want other consumers to take from my experience: DO YOUR MATH BEFORE YOU BUY DENTAL INSURANCE.
Don't simply look at words like “100% coverage” or what appears on your insurance card. Ask exactly:
• What dollar amount will you actually pay for my procedure?
• What is the insurance company's “allowed amount”?
• If I go to an out-of-network dentist, how much could I have to pay?
• Are there annual maximums or other limitations?
• If my dentist charges $479, how much will UnitedHealthcare actually pay?
I understand that insurance policies have rules and limitations. My frustration is that the coverage I thought I was purchasing and the amount actually paid felt very different.
If I had known that a $479 dental bill could result in UnitedHealthcare paying only $138, I would have thought very differently about whether this insurance was worth paying $572.04 every year.
I am sharing my experience because I don't want someone else to make the same mistake.
Before choosing a dental insurance plan, don't just look at the monthly premium or the words “100% coverage.” Do your math. Read the fine print. Ask questions. And find out exactly how much the insurance company will pay before you assume you are covered.
For me, this experience has made me seriously reconsider whether continuing to pay for this dental insurance is financially worthwhile.
My last question: $ 434.04 is in the pocket of someone that is not me.

UnitedHealthCare Vision Service Spectra…
UnitedHealthCare Vision Service Spectra is the absolute worse!
They have denied reimbursement on my eyewear twice claiming that the companies are out of network. I accepted the decision the first time when it was RX-Able, but this time I used GlassesUSA which was supposed to be in network and they still denied my claim. Perhaps you should let customers know who it is they can actually use in order to get reimbursed. I get it Luigi!

I have been trying every way possible and with help from UHC representatives and I am unable to get into the app and also unable to get into the UnitedHealthCare .com. I have lost 2 months of free groceries. I updated my phone number and email address and still nothing just takes me in loops and then says ERROR OCCURRED. This is ridiculous and very disappointing! To make matters worse I still haven’t seen my UHC card which I had them send out on 7/17 of last month. Thumbs down!!!
