My experience with ukabroad was incredibly positive. I was overwhelmed about process of renewing my British passport, and didn't know where to begin & it felt very daunting. However, once I found ukabroad they walked me though the process and made it clear what documents I needed to provide. They helped me gather all the needed items & confirmed I had provided everything, they even helped me organise the collection of the parcel with the documents with the delivery service. Carina the passport consultant at HM Passport was superb in every way. Her courtesy and accurate assessment of my application at every stage was very impressive. Can I hire her as our university Vice-President? Hitherto I guess I have casually written Mr John Maher. On this occasion I wrote Dr. John C Maher. A question at the final stage - sent from the passport issue office to Carina and transmitted to me - went something like, "When did you become a Doctor?" and "Can you provide evidence of this?" It surprised me. I contacted Edinburgh University to send a copy of my old certificate from 1986! A hassle. It made me wonder whether the Passport Office distinguish between people with a Ph.D. (Dr. John Smith) and people who are an M.D. (Dr. John Smith). In the end I just contacted Carina and said, "OK, just Mr is fine" Many decades ago I encountered laughable rudeness and mismanagement in a dingy cold office with only two metal chairs, in the port of Yokohama. This was the British Embassy of Tokyo Passport Renewal Section. It appears that it had been decided to outsource passport 'stuff' to this office. It didn't last long. My experience this time was like stepping into a Rolls Royce. The driver was Carina. Thank you. John
