Turner's OutdoorsmanReviews of turners.com

I would like to share my recent experience with Turner's Outdoorsman in Fountain Valley, California, regarding my Staccato order. Unfortunately, my experience with Turner's today was extremely disappointing, and this was not my first negative experience with this location. I previously purchased a Glock 26 from them, and the entire process was unnecessarily complicated and frustrating. Despite that experience, I decided to give Turner's another opportunity today, hoping things would be different. Unfortunately, the experience was just as disappointing. After waiting more than an hour while the employee attempted to figure out how to process my firearm transfer, and after I had already paid the required fee, the manager informed me that I would need to visit the California DMV to change my name on my driver's license before they could proceed.I found this particularly frustrating for several reasons. First, I previously purchased a Glock 26 from this exact location using the same driver's license without any issues related to my name. Second, and even more importantly, I was hired by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) using the same identification information that appears on my current California driver's license. I am currently serving as a Deputy Sheriff, and this identification was part of my official hiring process. Considering that my identification information was accepted during my LASD hiring process and my previous firearm purchase, I find it difficult to understand why Turner's is now claiming that my driver's license needs to be changed. Terrible service!!!!Avoid Tunners

I purchased a brand new fishing rod from this Turner's Outdoorsman location. Within the first 20 minutes of normal use on my very first trip, the rod blank structurally snapped. It was completely defective out of the box. I brought the broken rod and the receipt back to the store immediately to request a simple exchange or refund for defective gear. Instead of honoring a standard exchange for a broken item, the store manager refused to refund or replace it, and instead tried to offer me a 50% discount to buy a completely new rod. I asked him how he could possibly ask me to spend even more money on the exact same product when the first one failed immediately. I told him they should be giving me a new product or refunding my money, and that their refusal was in direct violation of California consumer protection laws. When I asked him if he was really going to make me go through the entire official dispute process over a defective item rather than just doing the right thing, he looked right at me and said, "Yes". Per California Civil Code Section 1723, this store failed to print any restrictive return policy on my receipt. Furthermore, under California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, all retail items carry a mandatory "implied warranty of merchantability" ensuring they are fit for their ordinary purpose. A rod snapping in 20 minutes fundamentally breaches state law, and trying to upsell a victim of a defective product is unacceptable corporate behavior. Buyers beware: Turner's will gladly take your money but will refuse to back up defective products, completely violating state retail laws. If your gear breaks immediately, expect a manager who tries to use it as an opportunity to sell you another item instead of helping you. I am officially filing complaints with the California Attorney General and the BBB, and letting my credit card company handle them via a chargeback. Avoid this location.

It has not been great. Not only poor but questionable. I bought a firearm from them several months ago. When I put several dummy cartridges in it and tried to run them through it failed. I took it back to the store. The gunsmith tried, and it failed. He said he couldn't fix it. We asked to exchange it. They informed us no refunds, no exchanges. They would have to send it to the factory, and it would take several weeks. It's going on several months. My son has inquired on the status, and they stonewall him. That's why I believe I may never see that gun again. It's the store in Tucson It was better when it was Second Amendment Sports. Three purchases. No problems. No stars.

Asked to see Kimber Raptor, picked it up and said, it must have aluminum frame. Clerk looked at the tag and said no steel. I checked my phone and showed him aluminum frame. He said the Rapide was on sale next day for $300 off its inflated price, so I picked it up and it was all scratched and dinged. I asked if I could get one from the back that was in "new" condition. He said no. Then dropped it on the floor putting it back. These guys have pretty much zero knowledge of what they are selling, rude. I do not know how it stays in business. Lastly, they ask you for 30% down and if they screw up, or anything happens you are charged this as restocking fee. I looked it up, CA allows this if you sign it, but CA law is no more than 5% for restocking. I don't get a restocking fee for something you never owned, brought home, opened, etc? In AV, recommend GUN SHOP, only real gun store here.

I have been buying guns and ammunition at this place for years. My four brothers, two brothers-in-law, and my son, all of whom hold firearms licenses, were introduced to this store by me; I got them to buy their guns and all their gear here. I had never returned anything before, but today I went in to return a magazine that I hadn't opened, as well as a holster that one of the salespeople had opened because I asked him to test-fit a pistol inside it to ensure it was the correct size. The store manager started making excuses right away—first regarding the magazine, questioning why I was returning it. Then, regarding the holster, he refused to accept the return, claiming it showed signs of a pistol having been inserted into it. I tried to explain to him that it was his salesperson who had done that, not me, but he still insinuated that I was lying to him. He was quite condescending toward me and made me feel as though I were committing fraud by attempting to return an item I had already used. I will never return to this store, and I intend to tell my brothers, brothers-in-law, and son about this terrible experience so that they, too, will stop coming here. No, I do not recommend this place; if you ever need to exchange or return an item, they will treat you like a criminal and refuse to give you a refund.

Carol with the e-commerce department at Turner's Outdoorsman was very helpful. I had a great experience with an online purchase of a handgun I found at a very good price. The product was shipped to my preferred FFL at my request since they were not initially in Turner's system. Carol provided great communication throughout the process and I got my gun in a few days. I took it to the range yesterday and couldn't be more pleased.
