I ordered a custom dress and gave them extensive and generous measurements in the areas I know I always have trouble with on dresses. The dress showed up clearly with none of these measurements taken into account and is several inches from fitting in a number of areas, even though I’ve lost weight since I gave them the oversized measurements. Now I’m going to have to spend extra to get it altered and hope the seamstress can get it at least to a wearable point before the wedding. Since the company is in China I don’t have enough time to send it back for a new one, not that it seems like they would take it anyway. If you’re looking to order a dress, I would highly recommend using a company that will actually let you try on the dress style first and care whether or not they make a dress that fits.

Card charged after canceled order
After placing my order I received an email that said they 'we will have to check if we have enough time to finish your dress'. I was not comfortable with this and canceled my order and purchased my dress somewhere else. They kept offering me a discount or rushed shipping and i continued to state that I am cancelling my order. After 2 emails confirming my cancellation my credit card was charged and they have not been in contact since. BUYER BEWARE!
edited 1 month later: My money was eventually refunded in full after I posted this review and reached out to their social media accounts. I was asked to remove this review however it is an accurate portrayal of my dealings with this company. I still wouldn't recommend.

Hi Katelynn,
First please accept our sincere apologizes for all inconvenience. It was not our intention to put any of our customers in a difficut position.
However we want to explain the card charge. Actually your card was charged when the order was placed and the payment was finished by the credit card company. We need to confirm your cancel and then process the refund. We don't charge your card after you cancel the order because it was charged at first when you placed the order.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience and sorry again.
Regard,
Sophie

Before settling, search elsewhere!
I have had my eye on this company since late last year. My cousin got engaged August of 2013, and out of excitement I began my search for the perfect maid of honor dress. Searches on Pinterest led me to tulleandchantilly and I sent out an email to inquire about styles, pricing, etc. Sophie was quick and very helpful in answering my questions, and she suggested given that the wedding was scheduled for June of this year (2014), it would be best to order at least 2 months ahead of time considering shipping and such. So, I kept this in mind, but continued to search because I had tons of time before needing to settle on a dress.
I found many sites and stores that offer dresses that are exactly the same styles and colors as offered through tulleandchantilly (and they are much cheaper!), however, I decided to buy through this company because of the awesome customer service received initially and again earlier this year when ordering.
The dress had come in about a month and it is beautifully made (material, detailing, etc.) Everything was perfect, but when it came to the bust/chest area the sizing was completely off. I quickly got in contact with Sophie again who suggested the best thing to do was get alterations in the area to assure whatever work needed was done in time. In doing so, I asked about the refund policy on their site that states:
"If the dress's size differs from the specifications you ordered, we encourage you to find a local seamstress to make adjustments, and we will gladly to give you some refund for the altered fee, if you choose this option, we require the copy of the receipt from your seamstress when you request reimbursement. If we make the dress in wrong size for you, you can return the dress to us, and get a refund."
Sophie said that they would only be able to refund a small amount because the company did handle shipping and labor, which I completely understood (the alterations to my dress ended up being pricey so I was thankful to have been able to get any help at all). As soon as I received the pricing on my alterations I scanned and forwarded all info to Sophie who stopped responding after that. I feel the whole refund situation was dealt with poorly and the company could really care less about messing up. Honestly, I would have rather been told that I was unable to get a refund for whatever reason up front than pretty much ditched.
I believe customer service is rated from beginning to end. Though Sophie seemed helpful in the beginning and during the ordering process, she didn't care about the follow up. I wish I could say I am an advocate for this company. Sadly, I don't recommend this company and have untabbed them for any future needs.

Don't do it
My daughter ordered her dresses from this site, so I thought how bad can it be! However, out of 5 dresses only one fit. I had ordered my mother of the bride dress from them. Ordered a size bigger than I normally wear. They emailed back promplty, to send in measurements. So I did, the dress gets to me on Monday, and it is 10 inches off. Emails back and forth more pictures, Sophie states " it is inconcievable the dress could be 10 inches off"
Really Sophie the pictures show it. I am disputing the charges. I wanted what I paid for. Lesson learned do not order a dress from China. All they had to do was send a call tag, or just remake the dress the right size. Or just refund my money. Will not recommend this company unless they make good on the purchase. I will do whatever it takes to get my dress or my money back.

Don't Order From Them
I'm a bride. I have been working hard to make sure that EVERYTHING about my wedding goes smoothly not only for me, but for my bridal party. I looked everywhere for the dresses for my bridesmaids so I decided to try out tulle and chantilly. They seemed legit and responded very quickly to everything I emailed. UNTIL, I had my girls order their dresses from them. They are supposed to be FIT to the person. Customized for their body types, right? No. I had 8 girls order dresses and EVERY SINGLE ONE of them did not fit at all!! Some were fairly close to fitting but still needed altering. The dresses look poorly made because the chiffon overlay is WAY too long and doesn't match the inlay of the skirt part. The top is all bunchy and huge on them and the busts are ridiculously too big. I don't understand how you can screw up a dress SO badly when people sent you in specific measurements. It doesn't make sense. Oh, and let's not get started about the emailing system. The response is always "Can you send us pictures of the dress so we can see what went wrong?" Well, here's the thing...you sent the girls their dresses ONE month before my wedding. You took entirely too long in sending them to us and held some of them hostage until everyone ordered theirs which doesn't make sense since you screwed them up anyways. So now, ALL of my girls have to get their dresses altered as quickly as possible so that the dresses look like how they're supposed to look! It's been the most stressful process ever. The one good thing is that they are compensating them for the alterations (hopefully). I don't even know if I trust that. I sure hope so. Anyways. It was a bad experience. Don't use them.

Stubborn Customer Service
I ordered the "Teal Green Sweetheart Ruched Bodice..." dress from Tulle and Chantilly a few weeks ago and received it a little earlier than anticipated, which is a good thing because it did not fit well at all. Firstly the bust size was two inches larger than I had requested (a 33 inches but it measured a 35 inches). The length was also far too long than I had indicated. The dress was still too long even after I wore my 4.5 inch heels when I indicated that I would be wearing medium hight heels of about 3 inches or kitten heels. I would not have been annoyed at all had I been able to return the dress easily but after four email correspondences the lady seems extremely adamant that I should take the dress to a tailor and that she would give me a 15% refund, which would very unlikely cover the costs of the alterations considering there are two parts to alter and that one of them is on the bust where all the chiffon detailing is. I had followed the return instructions on the website, taking pictures of all the problematic points with my measuring tape for clear indication. The lady corresponding seems very reluctant to provide me an address to send the dress back so I will be using the address on the receipt. I also said I would be very willing to pay for shipping back to Nanjing. All the while she keeps insisting that each dress is made "perfectly" and would never have shipped if the measurements were not correct, despite my photo evidence, and ironically says I need to get it tailored. I see that the brand has had good reviews prior but for some reason my experience has not been positive. Unfortunately I will not be making purchases from Tulle and Chantilly again and would warn others against it.
