The salesperson was excellent, the local installer was professional and efficient, and the shed appears to be good quality. Unfortunately, Tuff Shed’s post-sale customer service was extremely disappointing. Before painting had started, I asked to change the color and offered to provide the paint myself. For a 10x12 shed, Tuff Shed wanted $1,000 to change the color, or $750 if I supplied the paint. That is difficult to justify when painting was already included in the purchase. For comparison, two independent painters quoted me $900 and $1,000 to repaint the entire building, including paint and primer. I declined the change rather than pay what I consider an excessive and unreasonable fee. What should have been a five-star experience was significantly diminished by inflexible and disproportionate post-sale pricing.

The door is so heavy the hinges bent and pulled out after two years.

We recently purchased a Tuff Shed, and while the actual structure of the shed is quite nice and sturdy, there is a major cosmetic issue that potential buyers need to know about. Every Tuff Shed comes with a very ugly, 6-inch metal galvanized band that shows all the way around the outside bottom edge. It is incredibly unsightly and completely ruins the clean look of the shed. The biggest issue is that we were never told this would be the case during the design or purchase phase. It completely caught us by surprise upon delivery.When we brought this complaint to our salesperson, they were visibly unhappy with our feedback and actively tried to discourage me from writing a online review. They offered some suggestions on how to improve the look, all of which would cost a significant amount of money. If you care about the aesthetics of your backyard, make sure to ask about this metal framing before you buy. I wish someone had warned us- we would have gone a different direction with our purchase had we been made aware. We purchased our shed at the Tuff Shed in Palatine, IL.

While tuff sheds are well built, the seller doesn't mention how super hot they get with only a little sunshine. I bought it to store equipment in, but it gets so hot it will ruin any rubber or plastic parts. Also unsafe to store gas or fuel in. I have added windows and vents but it's still crazy hot. If the seller had warned me about this,I would have had it insulated at the time.

Had a 12x12 installed last November. After installing multiple counters and shelves discovered the shed’s out of plumb by a good margin. Also, most of the rear wall (manufactured at their site) the nails missed the studs completely. They did a shoddy job but I’m living with it because I’ve put much effort into the thing. If I did it over I’d stay on top of them since I know carpentry and would have spotted junk.

We engaged Tuff Shed to build a custom structure for around 25k. We had previously purchased 2 structures and had received good advice and good service. This time around, we were assigned a young salesperson to help us with this new project. He proceeded to give us poor advice on a variety of issues, offered limited information, failed to go over a number of key issues with us and we struggled to communicate promptly. When there were issues during the final production, we got a lot of pushback from the Tuff Shed team. We were told that, like it or not, we got what we paid for. Ultimately, the finished project wasn't quite finished and when we tried to resolve it, we were generally blown off. We will never do business with this company again. They are obviously a large bureaucracy with many layers. It's hard to say where "the buck stops" but it is clear they didn't care about keeping us as customers. We received no follow up calls. No check ins. Just a notice that they'd automatically charged our credit card for the final installment. On the upside, the subcontractors who actually built the structure were outstanding. They were friendly, reasonable and were happy to explain every little thing. We've learned that it's better to work with locals from our own neighborhood than with a big, faceless chain like Tuff Shed.

So I had a client who asked for a quote on building them a yard shed. They mentioned that they were also looking into tuff shed. They informed me what tuff shed quoted them. I didn't think I could compete cost wise as they deal in such bulk. They wound up going with tuff shed but I wasn't surprised. When I was able to see the final product i was really apprised however. The craftsmanship or lack there of, was a bit surprising. I took a few pictures but it appears there's not a place to post them on here. Don't be afraid to point out the obvious stuff to the installers.

What started as a 5 star review was reduced 1 star for the overall communication during the build process performed by the Orlando area office and the overall workmanship of the exterior prep and paint of my 24x24 garage. My expectation was set the building would take 2 days to construct. After 2 full days the sides, windows and roof had been installed but none of the siding. No one showed up on day 3 and by midday I called to find out when they would be back and to ask about the garage door install. They came back the following day (friday) and installed the siding, no follow up on the garage door install. I received a text from the installer they would be back on Monday or Tuesday of the following week to paint. On Monday I called to find out about the garage door install as I was still waiting for a response and relayed what the installer told me about the paint. The scheduler said she did know about that and she would send someone on Thursday paint and the garage doors would be installed the following week on Thursday. No one showed up on Thursday to paint and by late morning I called again to find out an update. The scheduler would not commit to when she would be able to send someone out. I called and complained to customer service and someone was sent the next day to do the painting (friday) . Roll forward a week...On what was supposed to be the garage install door day, by mid afternoon no one showed up and I again called to find out what was going on, had to leave a message. By this time my building had been exposed to all the weather for over 2 weeks and I am beachside. After contacting the sales person I received a call back and an excuse the vendor had just received the doors. Ok but why aren't you TS on top of this and letting me know? Workmanship regarding the overall prep and painting. The outside doorway was not caulked or painted and there are several places I will need to caulk which were not during the process. There are gaps where the siding and trim meet and all the screw indentations are visible on all of the trim. And then lastly the failed permit which I notified TS about including a picture of remarks posted on site had to call TS to find out if they received my message since no one responded to my email. Overall I would give this process a 2.5 star rating and I would not purchase another garage from them. It was a overpromise under deliver solution which I paid allot of money.
