Hi Nancy, Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Even though we would love to make our own apparel that not only is durable but is also stain resistant, unfortunately we have to rely on how the manufacturers desgin and make them, based on industry and safety guidelines set forth by the International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA). Also because of the way the reflective stripes are made and put on the apparel, we have found out that fabric softeners and normal wash and dry cycles are damaging and cause the reflective stripes to wear off or even come off the appareal. This may be out of the norm when it comes to washing your apparel but we know this will help any safety apparel last longer which is why we pass along this information.
