This Black & White Portrait was a dark & muddy
This Black & White Portrait was a little dark & muddy. It is not crisp like it is on my Mac Book Pro. I am having a series of prints made for a gallery showing. So this was a test.

Thomas, We print B&W to what we think looks best. Everyone has a different opinion when it comes to contrast, density, etc. We guarantee your satisfaction and will reprint any order if you are not happy with it. dark and low contrast prints
The prints were all very dark and low contrast. They bore little resemblance to the contrast and brightness of the files. I was a professional printer for many years and I worked for several years at Aperture Foundation in New York.

Disappointed
Prints were darker than expected and the quality of the paper is not what I expected from Ilford gallery paper. I like the prints I got from my local CVS better.

Sorry, we don't know what you expected. The prints match a calibrated monitor and were not adjusted. Sounds like your monitor is turned up too bright. It is Ilford paper; the specs are on the website. A perfect B&W print is different for different people. Some like lots of contrast, some like lots of mid tones and tonal range. We aim somewhere in the middle but that doesn't satisfy everyone. We do guarantee our work and will reprint it if returned with instructions. Thanks John

Pictures were formatted to include a…
Pictures were formatted to include a white boarder to allow for matting. Images were blown up anyway. Also all the images had the same scratch running through then in the same spot. Pretty disappointed. Print density was decent although they were a bit flat. Probably due to RC paper.

Randy, If there was a scratch, we will reprint them. All photo printing requires about a 3% increase in image size to bleed off of the cut photo paper. Any thin borders, keylines near the edge, or important subject matter right on the edge of the image will be lost and most likely be cropped off when printing. Adjust your image with a little extra space if you plan to cover the edges with a mat. On a calibrated monitor, your images were a bit flat. We print it just like you send it. If you want more contrast, we can do that. We guarantee our work and will reprint the order or refund your money. Let me know how we should proceed.

This Company Advertises as True Black…
This Company Advertises as True Black and White The pictures i received are more like Sepia color. I was looking for Black and White. Alot of these online photography printing companies just steal your money and have no skills in printing photographs. I will buy a printer and start printing at home. I'm sure the results will be better than their terrible guesswork.

We only print on ILFORD true Black & White photo paper and develop it in ILFORD B&W developer. We have been in the photo printing business for over 38 years and have a large professional following.
