Easy to use
Using Traveler's Joy was great and easy to use. The percentage that comes out of a gift though seems steep. But overall it was good.

We're a small group of folks that started Traveler's Joy on a stoop in Brooklyn, NY in 2004. However, it all really started in 2003 with the serendipitous meeting of our founders at the first overnight hut of the Milford Track in New Zealand. Taking the company from a muddy hike on the South Island to the world's most popular honeymoon registry in a few short years required a lot of work. Luckily we have the best team in the world! Traveler's Joy continues to grow into a new decade and we're all very excited at what the future will bring. If you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or quotes (or just want to say "Hi!"), always feel free to contact us! You are the lifeblood of our business and the keeper of our hearts.

This website was great and very easy to use. The only downside is the service fee, some of my guests were questioning why they would contribute to the site rather than just writing me a check when you can save that fee.

Hi Lisa, Thanks for your review. It is much appreciated. There is a service fee with gifts given via credit card (they charge up to 3%) but gifts given via cash or check are completely free. Have a wonderful day. Best Regards, Brandon Warner CEO & Co-founder Traveler's Joy 888.878.5569

It was easy to cash out the gifts we received. When I set up the Traveler'a Joy account, I didn't realize that there was a fee.

B & K, I'm so sorry you did not know there was a fee associated with gifts given via a credit card. We have tried to make the fee explanation as easy and visible as possible so I apologize that you still were not able to see it. We have it listed in our Common Questions section and within the first section of our Terms of Use that are required to be read when signing up with Traveler's Joy. Did you take advantage of our no fee option which allows gift givers to provide gifts to couples with cash or check which is 100% free? Please let us know if you did not see this option within your account settings. Thanks again for your feedback. It is very much appreciated and I hope this response provides some clarification. Have a wonderful day. Best Regards, Brandon Warner CEO & Co-founder Traveler's Joy Skip the blender. Register your honeymooon.

Great service

My husband and I used Travelers Joy because we have a lot of what we already need, and we're moving across the state so we didn't want to add to our hauling load. Traveler's Joy helped with the registry, gave us some other couple's registries that we could use for examples and inspiration (which was very helpful) and had an easy process for depositing our gifts after the wedding. The only complaint I have is that it was pretty expensive. You can choose to have them collect the processing fees from guests, (I hope no one would ever do that!) guests and the overall gift or just from your overall gift. The amount ended up being about 5%. We opted to have them collect from our gift, so we thought that our guests wouldn't see any fees. But it turns out our guests still had to pay a .99 per transaction fee and an additional $5.90 per card if they wanted to have one mailed to us saying what honeymoon gift they had purchased. Many of our guests opted not to send the card and so we were just notified of their gifts via the automated email. Overall, I would probably compare pricing between this and some of the other honeymoon funding sites, but the end experience with Traveler's Joy wasn't bad at all!

Hi Kristi: Congratulations and thank you so much for your review. We really appreciate it. It sounds like you did not have the best experience with Traveler's Joy and I hope I can offer some explanations below. Your review will be shared with our entire company at our weekly meeting and we will work together to address your feedback. I apologize the .99 cent fee assessed to each gift giver was not clear. We will work on our messaging to make sure that is more clear for future customers. The fee covers processing the credit card (which can cost up to 3%), hosting, features, services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone. Finally, we pay our customer service team, based in the US, a living wage and do not outsource customer service like a lot of other companies. The gift notification card is completely optional for gift givers. These cards can be mailed to the couple directly or sent to the gift giver to be presented at a later time. Many gift givers appreciate the opportunity to purchase a tangible representation of the experience and/or item(s) they purchase from a registry. This option was added at the request of thousands of gift givers. Thanks again for your feedback. I hope this provides some background for you. I'm happy to talk more about your experience if you email me at [brandon][at][travelersjoy.com]. Best Regards, Brandon Warner CEO & Co-founder Traveler's Joy Skip the blender. May not be a popular option if you have a lot of older or traditional-minded guests, but the ease of use for us (as the couple) was top-notch. Loved the location-based templates and gift suggestions, and the resulting page was very appealing. Customer service was everything we needed it to be, and the process of transferring our gift balance was simple and easy.

It was unclear from the outset and throughout that those whom were gifted would be charged. It wasn't clear and would have preferred that those who chose to use the service be charged not taking away from the gift amount

Hi Tiffany: Congratulations and thank you so much for your review. We really appreciate it. It sounds like you did not have the best experience with Traveler's Joy and I hope my response below offers a reasonable explanation. First, your review will be shared with our entire company at our weekly meeting and we will work together to address your feedback and find a solution to make it more clear. In addition to explaining this on our 'Common Questions' section, we also include it in our 'Terms of Use'. I'm sorry these areas were not easy for you to find during sign up and when you navigated the site. We try to make the Common Questions section very easy to find by placing a link to it on every page (except the registry page) and just below the fold on the homepage. Second, as described in our 'Common Questions' section, our fee structure is set up as follows: 1) For gifts given using a credit card, 2.95% is deducted from the gift amount. The guest is charged 2.95% + $0.99 on checkout. These fees cover processing the credit card (which can cost up to 3%), hosting, features, services of your registry, phone support five days a week, twenty-four hour email support, and support for your wedding guests who wish to purchase a gift for you over the phone. We pay our customer service team a living wage and do not outsource our customer service. 2) Couples have the option to give the credit card fees to the guest making ALL gifts 100% FREE for you to receive. From the same settings, you can also choose to have all fees deducted from the gift amount. This makes a gift cost guests just $0.99 to provide. It's totally up to you! 3) There are no "Upgrade" fees, subscriptions, or monthly fees like a lot of other honeymoon registries. 4) Finally, our fee structure allows for guests to provide gifts to couples with cash or check which are 100% free. Thanks again for your feedback. It is very much appreciated and I hope this response provides some clarification on our fee. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if I can provide any more information. [brandon][at][travelersjoy][.][com] Best Regards, Brandon Warner CEO & Co-founder Traveler's Joy Skip the blender. Process overall went well. Easy to transfer money to our account. The fee process was hard to understand until after we had signed up and gone through the entire process. Would recommend to other couples.
