DO NOT USE TAX RELIEF ADVOCATES!!Stay with or contact your personal Tax Accountant Company!! I called and spoke with Stanley Wu. I informed Stanley of information regarding three years of taxes owed. I felt like I was trapped by the IRS and Stanley reassured me TRA would be able to assist me with penalties and other fees. After paying $600.00 for service, Stanley Wu informed me three weeks later, TRA could not resolve any of my concerns!! Stanley informed me, he would call back the following day with further information but never did! I called and left two messages in two days but Stanley never returned my call!! I contacted my Tax Company and they helped resolve and confirm any issues I had!! TAX RELIEF ADVOCATES is a scam!! Took my money and did nothing for me!!

Beware and overly cautious if you decide to deal with this company, TAX RELIEF ADVOCATE (TRA), because of my bad experience. I dealt with them for 7 months. I signed an agreement with them but no forms have been presented to me for submission to the IRS. I have paid them a total of $3,545.65 already which is close to 60% of the amount agreed upon. In spite of this huge payment, there was no clear indications that they will provide me the necessary forms or documents for me to decide what need to be submitted to the IRS. My case is not that complicated. I have provided all the documents they require promptly. Lately, every time I follow up my case with their case coordinator telephonically if it’s not a busy signal, it goes directly to his answering machine, as if it was programmed that way. My e-mails/messages were not responded to either. My frustrations with them keep piling up so I decide to block any future payments. Then their billing Department immediately started sending text messages to my phone and e-mail reminders about payment. During the 7 months that I have continuously paid them, they have not produced any document that will assist my case with the IRS. I am giving them a negative review because of my bad experience so think twice if you are planning to deal with them. Tax Relief Advocate (TRA) will just steal your money in helping your delinquent tax with the IRS. TRA is a “SCAMMER”. Now they’re even using other company name of Tax Processing Solutions (TPS) to mislead the public.

So far, it’s been a terrible experience. The worst of my life. I retained TRA in the fall of 2025. I retained them to handle 4 or 5 years of back tax returns and ensure I had no judgements, garnishments, or any tax related issues with the government. They said it would take about a year, and they charged me over $32,000.00 to “ handle” this. Well, February rolls around and I go to get my passport for my business trip abroad and I receive a letter back stating I can’t get my pass port due to a tax issue. I immediately contact my sales rep and make clear this needs addressed, as you were retained to ensure I had no IRS issues. Well excuses were made and at this point they had roughly 75 days to resolve the issue so i could get my passport and go on my trip. I call no follow up, I finally get to a lady, who says shes getting me to another lady, and to this day I haven’t had a follow up. I missed my trip costing me a $4,500 First class ticket, and other reservation fees. I then send a Email to cease and desist all payments until we decide on how to go forward. No response— I continue to get billed through.. Finally after going through my bank and providing proof that I had removed the authoriazation for deductions was I credited back 1 month. I still had to get a new card and change everything because when they got denied for stop payment they ran it under another name or initials to get it to process. Top things off, in one of my calls with my rep, I discussed needing to know that ALL the tax stuff was being handled including state. He then went on and on about let me see what i can do bla bla bla .. Well this morning I woke up to a bank levy of 60K because they had never been contacted by TRA. So I am 10’s of thousands and as of last week when I left messages for anyone one on the executive team to call me, and another email saying no payment until we have resolution on a path forward, and still nothing. As of the moment of this review I left messages for everyone to the CEO to VP of operations an had ZERO follow-up or response. So to summarize, over 30K in fees - Can’t get passsoort, Accounts all screwed up due to levies and garnishments - no filled copies of tax returns - a complete and total failure. Avoid these people like the plague. If I’m ever contacted or any effort to resolve by them is made I will update this.

A colleague recommended TRA to me, but later told me they had failed him. I decided to give TRA the benefit of the doubt, since each personal experience can be different. Unfortunately, they ended up screwing me over as well. I paid $595 to TRA for their tax relief program after being assured of a money‑back guarantee by their representative, Steven Ortega. When TRA failed to deliver the promised service, I requested a refund. My emails were ignored or delayed, and instead of resolving the issue, Ortega deflected responsibility by giving me a generic Customer Service number. That was not an appropriate or professional channel for a refund dispute. TRA ultimately denied my refund without explanation, despite their advertised guarantee. This company misrepresented its services, failed to honor its guarantee, and handled my complaint unprofessionally. Consumers should be cautious before trusting TRA with their money.

A couple of months ago, I was contacted by Tax Relief Advocates during a very difficult financial period. After speaking with Megan, I decided to enroll because she seemed genuinely caring and eager to help. I provided a credit card for my payments, but apparently one of the payments did not go through. The disappointing part is that no one from Tax Relief Advocates—not even Megan, the sales representative—contacted me to let me know there was an issue. There was no phone call, email, or even a simple text message. I eventually called the subcontractor that Tax Relief Advocates uses to handle the actual tax work, and they informed me that Tax Relief Advocates had instructed them to stop working on my case because of the payment issue. I had absolutely no idea this had happened. This situation could have been avoided with a simple phone call or text. Good communication is essential, especially when you're dealing with clients who are already under significant financial stress. Unfortunately, my experience has been that once I signed up, I felt like just another number. Ironically, Megan had previously told me that if I couldn't reach her by phone because she was busy closing other deals, I should simply send her a text. Yet when there was an issue with my account that affected my case, no one extended me the same courtesy. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service. Since I've already made payments, I'm willing to give Tax Relief Advocates one more opportunity to make this right. However, I sincerely hope they improve their communication with their clients. A simple phone call or text message can make all the difference.

If I could give a zero I would !! Communication was non stop almost to much before I signed up for the program , now that I have signed up the communication is non existent!! The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing and I can’t get a clear answer where my money is going to !! The representatives refused to let me speak with a supervisor for clarification!! I would never use this company again and urge you not to as well

Terrible . The representative literally talked to my husband a few times and just kept saying one thing then another trying his best to get us signed up then I talked to him 1 on 1 and when I said we will try to sign up later on he kept on trying to get me signed up and literally said u won’t call back most people don’t if they don’t do it today putting words and actions in my mouth isn’t the way u go about things . Lies do not I repeat do not deal with these crooks they are trying to get u signed in and locked in and what reviews I’ve read they take it and leave u hanging !!! Not me I’m smarter than u buddy and u are the reason people don’t call back !!!
