Where to begin...
Where to begin. I've had Total wireless for several years now (circa 2016). Initially they were great. Then came TracFone, who bought Total around 2018. Immediately I noticed worsening cell reception, jacked up rates and the abandonment of wifi calling and hotspots. At least the website and CS was still good, as were rates. Eventually Hotspot was brought back in late 2019. Now that Verizon has gotten it's hands on TracFone and a whole slew of their subsidiaries (including Total wireless), Total has been a nightmare. My initial hint that things were going downhill was an increase in plan price. However within this last month, I've finally had it. I've been attempting to connect my brand new phone to their network for a while now. I've talked to CS multiple times, purchased a new sim, you name it, in attempt to connect my new device. On the supported devices menu, my IMEI is listed as compatible. Well after 10 days of issues, I final got an answer -- my brand new phone is not supported by the network. So I'm switching to Verizon proper. I'm not happy, but whatever. What's even more frustrating is what has happened the last two days. I want to port-out my number (this is to keep the number on a new carrier). You need your account number and have a transfer pin created. I need to sign into my account to check these (I'm not sure if my account is still my old phone's IMEI or not). Regardless, every time I attempt to use the website to login, it says that it's not available. For the last day, whenever I try to log in, I get this message. So I figured I'd try to text their help number. When I did so, it asked me if I wanted to transfer to another TracFone service or to a new carrier -- naturally I indicated that I needed a pin for a new carrier (Verizon). It then proceeded to ask me which TracFone service I wanted to transfer to. *sigh* All I'm try to do is get these two basic numbers to transfer to Verizon on a plan I've already prepaid. All I need is the digits for a port. It's not rocket science.
