After reading other similar complaints—which I now regret not seeing sooner—it’s clear this isn’t a one-off but a pattern. Their process is very complicated and they expect an extreme amount of work for such a small amount of money. Definitely not worth it. They cost more than some other travel insurance companies I have used in the past yet they are so much more difficult to work with. I purchased this insurance just in case of emergency, and I think having my husband pass away is an emergency. They are requiring I have each one of the doctors involved in his care fill out a form, include medical documentation and then email them directly. No doctor is going to waste time doing that when they are already swamped. I sent in letters from the doctors and proof that he had actually died but that wasn’t good enough. I am guessing they do this (make it extremely difficult) so you give up and move on. I am about to do that. My time right now is worth much more than a few hundred dollars.
