On 11/05/2026, I booked and fully paid for a one-day car rental with a total amount of AED 196.64, including delivery, collection, admin fee, and VAT. At the time of booking, the reservation appeared fully confirmed and paid with no outstanding requirements or additional conditions disclosed.
The vehicle delivery was scheduled for 15/05/2026 at 11:00 AM. However, before 10:00 AM on the same day, I received a call informing me that the driver was already on the way, effectively changing the agreed delivery timing without prior consent.
At that moment, and only minutes before delivery, I was informed via text message that I was required to provide a AED 2,000 security deposit through debit card authorization, to remain blocked for up to 30 days.
Due to the company’s conduct, I will proceed with legal claim and reviews like this, so we all know where to not get any service, so run away from this company.

They deserve ZERO stars
They deserve ZERO stars. Terrible customer service. They take double monthly payments and don’t return emails. It took three weeks to address their mistakes. HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL in every way. Avoid doing business with them.

After 4 months of renting cars from…
After 4 months of renting cars from thrifty for nearly 4 months. Unfortunately, once you need them they won't help you quickly.
I felt like as long as you are paying without needing them you are good.

Hidden cost will appear few weeks after the return
Poor car delivery experience and hidden cost once you have returned the car. If you demand proof, they just start to ignore you. We were charged 2 weeks later with 300 dirhams for "bad smell of smoke", although non who were in care were smokers.

Hidden deposit
Hidden deposit, poor transparency.
App doesn’t clearly state the deposit amount — we were surprised with AED 2,000. Refund takes 30–40 days even for a short rental.
If this was disclosed upfront, we would have booked elsewhere.

Do not use !!!!!
Do NOT use this company. I rented a car from them in Dubai for a month. Had an accident and due to nerve damage I was unable to use my right foot and was unable to drive. I sent them the proof from hospital and they collected the car over a month ago, I have since then been chasing back my deposit. Every time I speak with them they drag it on. Give vague answers. No transparency. On WhatsApp they take forever to reply. I have spoken to numerous departments even went in there in person. It’s just lies and lies. They are so bad. Just look at reviews before using a rental company. Really really really bad.
