After fighting with them for a month and a half and them burying our doctor in duplicate paperwork, the claim was denied due to one set of papers not being returned by the doctor. Every representative we talk to says to give it time to process. Not sure how much more time they need since they have gotten all the paperwork. They continue to send the doctor papers at least twice a week that she has already filled out and returned. They say they dont receive it but, the timeline shows that they have received it.

Garbage company. Needed to use STD for a hospitalization and they told me I didn’t qualify for my full allotted time. I asked how they make their decisions and it was definitely not based on my doctors reports even though they asked for a million different forms. My assigned representative NEVER picked up the phone or called back. I was NEVER allowed to speak to a manager or Adjustor directly. No one ever called me back to ask questions or explain what else is needed to move my claim along. Fraudulent company if you ask me.

I am on a mission to get companies to stop using Hartford! These people are the worst. There are adjusters and attorneys who work together and lie to prevent proper payouts to clients. This company does not care about its employee once they are injured on the job! They refused to offer me a fair settlement after being told I was Totally Permanently Disabled! offered me 120,000 for twenty years of disability. I'm going to get the word out about these crooks!! I hope they begin to lose clients. I'm going on TV next!

I received a mail offer for auto insurance based on my driving record. It included a free duffel bag just for requesting a quote. Well....the quote they gave me was double what I was already paying! When I asked about the duffel bag, they said it would arrive in about 2 months. This was all done through the AARP. Baloney. Keep your bag and empty promises.

The Hartford is a duplicitous organization stuck in the 19th century. We tried getting an online quote which resulted in a daisy chain of phone calls to regurgitate the same information over and over. If they say you will have something done online. They can't do it online. If your business involves the internet, at all, they can't help you and will decline. They are so stuck in the past that they may even respond to this review via telegram.

If I could give a negative star review I would. This place has the absolute worst turn over time I’ve ever experienced, and their service reps are less than pleasant the minute you start questioning things. My husband and I have been on various short term disability leaves over the years with our current employer, I was employed for 7 years and he for 9 and still there. We always end up spending the time arguing with the Hartford about documents that supposedly “weren’t received” or that, more realistically, were in actuality neglected by a case worker and thrown to the side. No matter what, there is ALWAYS an excuse in their eyes. When I had my. 3rd child, I called them for the thousandth time only to have a case worker there tell me after not receiving pay for 3 weeks that “her crib card was illegible, the fax was too dark to read.” I said “aaaand literally nobody bothered to call me to tel me this the day it came in??” She comes back and says “oh well, if you can verify her DOB, we will approve this right now.” ... TF???? All she needs is me to tell her the day she was born... all that bickering and that’s all she needed. Needless to say, I was beside myself. That was just one of many many many issues over the years, don’t even get me started on my husband’s experience! There were times he contacted them daily leading up to payday and still did not get paid. Everytime you call they say “we will put a little note in here to expedite services.” I do believe they sit back and intentionally make their customers lives miserable. Awful people and the only thing I would recommend about this company is that you never ever go under a leave depending on them to approve your claim because you will find yourself 💩 out of luck everytime!!!

I have been in the insurance business for over 21 years and the Hartford company having to deal with them for a short term disability for my job is the worst company with the most incompetent staff I have ever dealt with in my 21 years in the insurance business. Please if you’re thinking about dealing with this company don’t.

Don't waste your money with Hartford! This company takes your money, but never pays a claim. Used them for years when I bought an old house. Put thousands into the house and they still weren't happy. Then just recently they attacked my mother who has been a customer for years. They gave her 10 days to fix dozens of their complaints. One was her siding which they refused to fix when she made 2 claims a few years after it was installed. The neighbors fence!! Her stuff stored in her carport has to go. And the kicker. She was asked to remove a 2 year old metal roof from her garage. They claimed it was tin, had no roof cap and was not screwed down at the max. 12 inch intervals. No, It is a 24gauge, 50 year, metal roof with roof cap, end caps and is screwed down at 8 inch intervals. Their customer service rep told my mother to just work more hours and hire a contractor. My Mom is 75 and is mobility challenged. Very Rude!!!
