Hartford cancelled my policy without proper notification. They claim they sent me an email notifying me the policy would be cancelled. A credit card was on file for autopay but the autopay did not get charged. Hartford did not call me or send me a letter to state that there was a problem with the policy.

This is the worst company AARP pushes. Called to cancel our policy and they didn’t do it and charged 2 more months premiums even though we had coverage through another company. They refuse to refund the premiums and then told us we owe them more money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! AARP SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES TO PROMOTE SUCH A LOW LEVEL COMPANY!!!!

Wind damage to roof, took a month to decide to finally pay the claim to replace it. By then the prices of material went up and I was told to send in any overage so they could review. I was then told I now had a new adjuster, she sent a form letter to introduce them selves. I sent all info to her and did not hear from her. I sent emails, which I saved, and left voice mail every day for a week. NO RESPONSE! I then did the same with the former adjuster but no response. So have cc both for another week, NO RESPONSE FROM THIS COMPANY!

It is almost impossible to reach a live person. When you do, they keep repeating the same information. It took 5 times for me to get them to listen and look at the information I was providing from their site, which was an incorrect date. They finally saw it, apologized and asked if I wanted to talk to someone in escalations as no, the adjuster did not contact me as required. I wish I could say this was the first time. But it would be the 6th. They were not able to send me to a supervisor.

This Company is an absolute nightmare! My job has benefits through them. I opted into short term and long term disability. I am now hurt and unemployed. I have the disability insurance right?.... Ugh...nothing is right and they denied me because of two pieces of paper my doctor was supposed to fill out. He tried but then called Heartford, talked to six people, constantly on hold, took an HOUR of my doctor's time, just for them to say he can't fill it out a physical therapist has to. I go do that and then the adjuster says no that's not right and he has to fill it out! This is BS!!! Then she has the nerve to say he never called! Ahhhhh!!!She says after that she might open my case. I am beyond livid! Everyone in my doctor's office told me horrible stories of this Hartford company and I believe them! Why has there not been a lawsuit yet?! I would sign up in a heartbeat! I paid for a service, I qualify and I deserve what I paid in for! Not this run around bs!

Just about everything associated with The Hartford is horrific. How they handle claims and their overall customer service is lower than poor. They want your premiums but don’t want to honor their policies. Don’t walk, don’t run just hide from doing business with this company.

Hartford is way too expensive! I came to them through AARP, because they were supposed to look out for seniors and offer competitive rates! Not the case, when renewal time comes around you better know that it is going to increase!! I have no claims, senior, retired and hardly ever drive -but yet I am paying way too much for car insurance!! I called another competitor and got it at half the price! I took all of my business from them! Home and cars! Enough of these high rates!!! No claims, excellent driving record, excellent credit yet miserable prices!!!!
