I bounced a payment, called to notify them but they couldn't see it as bounced, I was told to call back. I then get a letter saying I need to make the payment with in 15 days of the letter so I call again and they decided to drop me because of the bounced payment! Ridiculous!!!!! Life happens.

THE worst! I have been a loyal customer for many years and due to their negligence in what was quoted to me and paid in full every 6 months, in June, with an auto renewed policy was cancelled over $75 that THEY identified in August (2 months after the policy was issued and paid). Their customer service, underwriting and resolution teams are inept and cancelling customers in a matter of fact way is a really bad business plan. I am a "safe driver", no incidents and was denied a reinstatement. They advised that I could reapply after one year. They will NEVER have me as a customer again and I will make sure to spread the word not to use The Hartford for any insurance needs.

I had an at fault accident because of a false report! I went to THE HARTFORD because of accident forgiveness! THEY REFUSED TO COVER ME!

I regret ever having a policy with Hartford. It was a complete waste of time trying to appeal their arbitrary and retroactive premium increases, which I had to do multiple times. I strongly advise others to avoid this company and not be lured in by their friendly sales staff or initial low rates. Our workers' compensation policy started at around $400 per year for two eligible employees out of a total of four. As renewal approached, we began receiving intimidating emails and reminders to complete a policy audit, threatening fines of up to three times the original premium if not completed by certain deadline. The online audit survey was highly intrusive, focusing heavily on our payroll filings for the past four quarters. In fact they want these payrolls uploaded to their portal or faxed to complete the audit. Despite our cooperation, they increased our premium by nearly four times retroactively, disregarding the original policy terms and conditions. Just the way an angry employee warned me when I called to cancel the Policy for not starting the audit. She was right and read through the script as if the purpose of audit, complete/incomplete does not matter, is to collect higher arbitrary premium for no benefit to employer.

I am a current Hartford client through AARP. I have to say that their rates are quite low, but you have to jump through many hoops to get them. They wanted to do an inspection on my home, but had me take over 40 pics. Felt intrusive. The car insurance requires you to use Truelane driving app to get an additional 6% off. The app drains my phone and watch battery. No one can explain your score. In 130 trips over 91 day period I have 5 "incidents". 3 green and 2 red (no one can tell me what they mean) my speeding score is 99, distraction 98, braking in the 90's and then cornering(which is not even on my app) is an 86. Overall I have a 56. No one can explain the score because they do not train their people. I imagine it is frustrating for the people who work for them. So much so, a customer service rep said he would put in a "ticket" and someone would call me back. He just said that to get off the phone with me LOL. I called back over a week later and they had no notes, record of the convo. The latest person was nice but eventually went to "it is what it is, just don't use it". The whole process has felt dishonest.

I want to give them a 0 I will never use them again because when you put in a claim they don't pay and I pay them 4000 a year now I have to pay out of pocket for my home and my A/C they out to get people's they are some sh** I'm going to file a lawsuit against them

We have been paying on a Hartford accident insurance policy through AAA since 2007. We have had absolutely no claims during that whole time. Recently I had an accident and had to have a knee replacement. It took a lengthy time to fill out all the paperwork then I was required to send more paperwork, and in the end the claim was denied! Since I did not rush to the emergency room immediately and waited a few days to see if my knee was OK I was denied. I resubmitted the paperwork for review and it was still denied. I would not recommend this insurance policy to anyone! It is a waste of your money! They are also extremely slow in getting back with you. And you spend long minutes on the phone waiting to talk to a representative when you call. Steer clear of this accident insurance.

I've been out of work (home depot) for a little over a month now. My back condition is getting worse to where i cant even walk. Probably about to need a second back surgery. Been dealing with the hartford for the past few weeks. Customer service has been horrible. I've sent in all requested documents multiple times and my doctors have filled out and faxed all necessary documents. Still seems like nothing is happening. All phone representatives aren't being helpful at all
