I received a quote for home and auto insurance from aarp hartford and both were so sky high over 4,000 for home insurance and too high for auto. I'm an aarp member and have for years. I'm 76 soon 77 and never been in a wreck that was my fault. I thought aarp was there to help people that were senior. Even all state is cheaper but hartford was the worse. Sad

I had been a State Farm Auto Insurance holder my entire adult driving life (that would be 40 years); and, I had been satisfied. However, I reached 62 and thought, hmmmm...what about The Hartford through AARP? Perhaps I should give them a try...being a senior citizen and looking to take advantage of a benefit of aging. BTW, I had no at-fault insurance claims and only 2 claims due to the fault of another. I had no tickets....none. So I moved over 5 years ago to The Hartford. It saved me a bit of money...not a huge amount but what-the-heck. In February of this year, I backed up into a rock which dented my rear bumper and required that I file a claim. I paid the $500 deductible; The Hartford paid the remaining $1,500. My insurance went up $135 per month (you know that's the statistical analysis that is calculated into your monthly cost once you file a claim). Basically, then, I paid The Hartford $5,940 for 60 months so that they could cover my $1,500 claim. And now they want to charge me an additional $135 per month because I filed said claim to use my F*&%$ing auto insurance. I am now back with State Farm. I am saving myself $150 per month. Thanks The Hartford for helping me see the error of my ways. Thanks State Farm for taking me back. Jeeeezzzz.

Recently was a victim of a house fire start at neighbors. Filed claim, end of June, had not heard from handler for 10 days. Called several times, she finally returned our call after getting irate with someone else. Got new handler, first one moved to different job believe for incompetence. Phone call twice from this handler, otherwise everything went through our contractor. Had he not informed us what was transpiring we would not have known. This company has lost it's luster for communication, responsibility and dedication to making customers want to stay with them. They more or less made it sound like we were the culprits of the incident. Do your homework before you trust a company.

I was the victim of an insurance scammer. A woman ran into me in a parking lot ( had pictures as proof). Hartford took the word of the person that hit me claiming I caused the accident. (I know she was a scammer as she told me her car was in the shop being fix from another fender bender she just had and their kitchen was bring redone from the fire they had when she dropped her cigarette in the basket) While the accident forgiveness kicked in, Hartford eliminated my umbrella! (I had an umbrella policy for homeowners/auto) Then 2 bad storm moved through my area causing a need for two new roofs within 18 months. Received a letter from Hartford stating they will not cover another new roof for five years. I tried looking for new insurance, but nobody will cover me because of The accident on my record, which I did not cause. I am so done with Heartford as soon as I can dump them. Not the company they used to be. Customer service is horrible. They don’t return calls. You can’t talk to the same adjuster no consistency whatsoever.

I am writing this because I am having a very difficult time trying to file the claim with the Hartford. I am trying to file a Work Accommodation. It began with the first phone call. The first rep made the mistake of requesting a start date of 3/1/2024. I am not sure how or why they did that. I am requesting a start date of 9/16/2024 when I went to my Doctor with the claim forms to be completed. Second mistake is the Hartford reps continually file a Leave of Absence claim which I am not requesting. I am requesting a Work Accommodation to be flexible with the 3 days per week in office. The reason being my medical conditions do not always allow me to work the 3 days per week required in office. The Hartford keeps filing a Leave of Absence claim, not a Work Accommodation. I have told them repeatedly; I am NOT requesting time off work or a Leave of Absence. I am only requesting to be able to work from home when I am not feeling well. I have had several doctor appointments in the last few months. I did leave the paperwork with my doctor’s office and am waiting for that to be completed. The Hartford actually closed my Work Accommodation and opened a Leave of Absence claim. Again, which I am not requesting. This experience with the Hartford has been very frustrating and extremely stressful. I called them 3 times today, got routed to a recording and disconnected twice. Called a 3rd time to ask for a supervisor due to these issues, and only got a voicemail. I did leave a message but the experience has been very poor. The person who is handling my claim is named: “Courtney Curry” with a phone number of 888-493-6623. But that is the phone number to the call center and not their direct phone number and I have not been able to speak to this person. I did specifically ask for Courtney Curry and got routed into a phone tree and ultimately disconnected on two occasions. Another very frustrating issue. Hopefully someone with the Hartford that can straighten this out. I am not sure what else to say but that Hartford is just not providing the service level that they should. Thank You, Kevin D.

FMLA CLAIM. I had heard other at work complain about this companies tactics and when I filed a FMLA claim I saw it first hand. They hired this company to harass and frustrate their employee into not using the benefits they are required by law to provide. Do a internet search and see all the lawsuit filed against them.

I had commercial insurance with Allstate, they were leaving the state so I needed new insurance. I don’t know if Allstate sent them my information or what but I got an email saying I had an account and I should sign in to it online. I needed commercial vehicle coverage so I signed in. It was not vehicle insurance it was overpriced liability insurance. I didn’t need that so I never paid for it and ignored them. Now I got an email saying I owe them money and they’re going to send me to collections. Seems to me this company is running some kind of scam. Stay clear of them

They are a scam. With me I had paid for over 20 years and had no claims now they jack my rate up 100% they i am looking for another company for my workmans comp insurance. I am welcome to conact them about this issue they can leave me a code
