Why does AARP promote the Hartford knowing they're ripping off seniors
In December 2024 while returning from California I hit a truck canopy. Of course there was severe damage done to the front of my vehicle. I filed a claim with the Hartford only to find out that when I had signed up and switched from my mustang to my Ford truck that they had not switched over my full coverage they had given me liability only which meant that I had no insurance basically. When I needed to get a rental car from Avis while the repairs were being done of course I had rental car coverage on my insurance and someone backed into it and knocked the carport down on top of it. It took me 40 days to get a response from the Hartford and the only reason that they did was because I called into argue with them about the coverage they had given me. If I had not called in she would not have called the adjuster and I would have never gotten a response. Avis contacted meat to let me know that it would be 2,000 plus dollars to do the repair. They submitted it to the Hartford and offered to close the claim out for $1,200. The Hartford refused. They did not notify me. They did not offer me the chance to pay the difference. As a matter of fact when I asked her via email why they didn't she just never responded to me. The Hartford is no place for seniors to get their insurance! Why is AARP promoting this company that is constantly ripping off seniors and providing no customer support whatsoever. After my last interaction was Hartford I had a heart attack I was so stressed out. You think they care? Nope. Still left me out there on my own to negotiate the rest of my debt on a fixed income. The Hartford is not the friend of seniors do not buy your insurance from these people. Their rates are outrageous and they constantly rip us off and shove us to the side like garbage. FYI, I am a 69-year-old professional driver who had a class b license for 50 years, never had an accident in my personal vehicle or work. Why is the Hartford charging me $2,000 a year for a 2004 Ford pickup that I drive less than 100 miles a month? These people are stealing from Americans
