Try to get quote from these crooks. I am paying $3600 per year for full coverage for our both vehicles 100/100/300 with 500 deductible include towing. These crook get lot of info. out of you and their Price is $7800 yearly. I think these crook do not like to insure people live in California so the double the price. Good for small villager. If I could give zero, they would certainly win that rating. Had them for over a year. Decided to go with the local state farm office, within walking distance. Called these people sometime on late April or so after I had the binder dated Apr 15 2025. Of course they now say they have no record I called, still fighting with them in Nov 2025 because they say they canceled me in Jul 2025. I cleaned up all my automatic billing on 6/1 the date I was done with them. Fast forward to August-October... They continued to send me bills for a policy I cancelled plus late fees. Now every month they threatening mail about collections. Every time I call it is the same story no we cancelled you on 7/25/2025...I day mot I have a binder on Apr 15 with State farm why would i need you. I sent them info they wanted, apparently it was not enough, they need declaration page vs the binder page. I can close on a house with a binder but i cant close out a auto policy. Plus I dont even have state farm any more. Not sure why this company exists with the reviews they have "earned". I told them continue to harass me and I will sue for 8 figures. Mention I filed complaints with bbb and ct insurance board. Maybe we go after this useless company in class action. Avoid the Hartford at all costs. The aggravation is just mot worth any savings you might get.

BEWARE !!! SCAM COMPANY !!! BEWARE!!! This insurance company makes fradulent statements , gives fake checks that are unverifiable and do not pay for any medical expenses. I have been out of work for 3 months and only received ONE payment even though I have been on the phone with them multiple times where they blatantly lie about sending my payments which im pretty sure is illegal. I know they are lying because they say they have sent the checks but the system never updates to show they have sent the payments and I never receive them. The phone conversations are recorded so I know their is proof of claim handlers such as Tiffany Mercado who has claimed not once or twice but 3 times being sent and yet I haven't received anything except letters of them disputing medical payments. The one time I did get a check it was almost impossible to cash because the check cashing stores can’t verify the check.I tryied to put my bank for direct deposit which they have denied all 3 of my bank accounts. By the looks of other reviews I am not the only one dealing with issues with this company. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. Businesses DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

Very disappointed in how this company handled cancelling our policy. We were long time customers, and in the end it meant nothing. They used a technicality to screw us for $700.

Hartford is refusing to honor my auto insurance claim. My 2008 Mustang was sideswiped, I called in my claim, got an estimate with photos. After 8 days, a rude adjusted called me and was useless. The Hartford sent me a non-renewal notice after insuring my home for less than one year. Nothing has changed since they insured my home.They had no explanation other than to send a letter saying "your home is no longer eligible for coverage with our program." They sold me the policy through AARP. Perhaps AARP shares some of the blame, too. I don't know. Just that now I have to find new coverage with another (I hope better) company. I would not recommend doing business with The Hartford.

For my recent auto-renewal it took 3 Agent Calls and extensive time to remove 1 sold car, and renew my current policy coverage... and more time 2 more calls to clarify and confirm the new total policy cost, and any potential cost increase if I moved from 1 time- 6 month payment to monthly payments, I made the 1st monthly payment and my total cost is now $700 more! What?

BAIT AND SWITCH WARNING. The Hartford Auto Insurance, offered through AARP, engages in deceptive business practices. I received a written quote for annual auto insurance coverage totaling $1,944.72, but six months later, The Hartford claimed the policy was actually semi-annual. I retained all documentation and pursued the matter in small claims court against both The Hartford and AARP — and won. Based on this experience, I will not conduct business with either organization again.
