Trading from a phone while working a 9 to 5 already comes with its challenges, and having to reconnect when switching between pages can make catching an entry even harder. We appreciate the positive comments about Joovier, our coaches, and the things you’ve learned with us. However, we need to correct the suggestion that The Edge Funder changes rules to punish traders or prevent payouts. We actually listen closely to trader feedback and have changed numerous policies over time to make our accounts better, simpler, and more trader friendly. We will continue doing that when a change makes sense. What we will not do is remove risk rules simply because a trader violated one or because a rule makes a particular trading strategy more difficult. The minimum trade duration exists to discourage extremely short duration trading and help identify the consistent trading behavior we are looking for. If a trade does not satisfy a published payout requirement, the fact that the trader was otherwise profitable or close to a payout does not override that requirement. We also want to address the statement that we “made you start your whole 7 days over.” Our team does not manually reset qualifying days because someone is approaching a payout. Trading activity either satisfies the applicable requirements or it does not. We understand the frustration of working toward a payout and then discovering that some of your trading activity did not qualify. But losing subsequent profits, going below your threshold, or second guessing trades afterward are unfortunately part of trading. Those outcomes were not caused by The Edge Funder taking money from your account. We genuinely value constructive criticism. A lot of improvements we've made came directly from listening to our traders. But our goal isn't to make every rule easier until virtually any trading behavior qualifies. We're trying to help develop consistent traders, not simply make it easier to pass payout requirements. We appreciate you recognizing the value of the platform, Joovier, and our coaching team, and we hope you continue applying what you've learned.

We appreciate that you started with us as a new trader and that The Edge Funder helped introduce you to prop firm trading. However, there is an important distinction that needs to be made here. Smiley does not decide which trading rules apply to you, and neither does any individual member of our team. The rules apply to every account and every trader equally. When our systems identify a rule violation, our team reviews the activity and communicates the outcome. They cannot simply overlook a violation because a trader says it was accidental. In your own review, you acknowledge that you opened a long position while you already had short positions open. Whether you intended to click Buy or Sell does not change what occurred on the account. The result was opposing positions, which violates our hedging policy. We understand that mistakes happen, especially for newer traders. Clicking the wrong button can absolutely be an honest mistake. But being a beginner or making an accidental trade cannot exempt an account from the rules. If we reversed violations every time someone told us the trade was accidental, we would no longer be enforcing the same standards for everyone. Your accounts were also not disabled because Smiley “felt like” disabling them, because you were close to a payout, or because we wanted you to purchase another account. Those are serious accusations and they are simply not accurate. The enforcement action resulted from the trading activity on the accounts. We also want to be clear about something for anyone considering The Edge Funder: if you make an order-entry mistake, manage it immediately, but understand that the underlying rule violation may still have consequences. Traders are responsible for every order submitted through their accounts. We appreciate the positive things you've said about The Edge Funder and Joovier, and we genuinely understand why losing accounts you worked hard on is frustrating. But frustration with the outcome does not mean the investigation was improper or that our team treated you unfairly. Rules have to mean the same thing whether an account is losing, profitable, one trade away from a target, or already at the target. That's the only fair way for us to enforce them.

Losing money on a trade is part of trading. The Edge Funder does not control the market, determine whether your trades win or lose, or remove profits simply because a trader had a profitable day. The issue identified on your account was hedging, which is prohibited under our trading rules. Taking opposing positions across correlated products or accounts in a manner that constitutes hedging is a risk violation. This is not some unusual rule invented by The Edge Funder after you made money. Hedging restrictions are standard across the prop firm industry, and our rules are available for traders to review before trading. If trading activity violates a published rule, profits associated with that activity may not qualify. That is very different from claiming we took your profits because you were successful. We understand that losing trades and rule violations can be frustrating, but neither is evidence that traders have an “impossible chance” of making money with us. We pay traders who meet our requirements every day. Traders are responsible for understanding the rules of the account they purchase and the positions they place. A rule violation does not become unfair simply because the trade happened to be profitable.
