Sent an offer that said it was for five…
I accepted an offer that said it was for 16grams 14k gold...$596,06 .. The total gold was for five rings… One of the rings had a one carat diamond… The other ring had a sapphire… And when I asked why they didn't send my diamond back because they didn't give me a price on the diamond ring or Sapphire because we're not part of their their criteria. So they kept my stones and paid me just for the gold and they will not give me my stones back. I'm a 76 year-old retired female that got ripped off.
Response from The Alloy MarketSep 4, 2025
Hello, this is Brandon Aversano, CEO & Founder of The Alloy Market. I wanted to respond personally because the feeling of distrust you described is the exact reason I started The Alloy Market in the first place. I understand how upsetting this experience was for you, and I’m truly sorry our process left you feeling less than totally satisfied. Before I founded Alloy, I went through something similar myself while dealing with a cancer diagnosis, and I know how painful it is to feel taken advantage of during an already difficult time. Our goal is for every customer to feel confident they’ve received a fair and transparent offer. While most of the value in smaller pieces of jewelry does come from the gold or other precious metals, especially with gold at all-time highs, we should have communicated more clearly. After personally reviewing your calls with our CX Manager and team, I can see where we fell short. To clarify, the sapphire and diamond were included in your final offer along with the value of your gold rings, but you also sent us 38 items made of metals like copper and zinc that we could not purchase. We believe in the utmost transparency, so in our explanation of the items we couldn't purchase and the process around the prompt return of those items to you, I recognize our explanation of this could have been more clear and caused unnecessary confusion. That’s on us, and I take full responsibility. We are already updating our communications to make our policies clearer so no one else feels the way you did. If you’re open to it, I would love the chance to connect with you directly and include your perspective in the improvements we’re making. Please call 1-888-672-1471 and ask to speak with me. Your voice as a valued client of ours matters to our company and to me personally, and I want to ensure we’re building the most trusted experience possible. -Brandon Aversano Founder & CEO
