Alloy rewrite
Alloy appeared at first to be a scam. Their initial offer to me was a low ball, about $250 below what I would expect. I spoke to their rep, who claimed they had made a mistake and would offer more. Later, a second rep called me and I felt a lot better about that conversation. I believe that rep #1 was inexperienced and made some customer interaction mistakes. Based on conversation #2, being fair minded, I decided to amend my initial review here. I believe that alloy could improve communication misunderstandings by stating up front what they will pay based on your initial inputs to them on the condition that when they receive the item, and it is verified, you will get the price offered. Also, it would be better to have their offer email contain not just an "Accept" button, but also a "Decline" button, so you dont need to speak with them (they are few in number) to decline the offer and retrieve your goods. There are lots of scammers out there and ultra caution is warranted when dealing for the first time. These measures would alleviate anxiety on both ends, save time and assuage any fears that they are not reputable.
