I graduated from law school and passed the bar in 2005, and haven't practiced since, nor touched on any bar exam subjects in that time. I decided to take the February 2018 UBE to get ahead at work and realized I really was starting from scratch. After seeing the same costly bar review products, I ran across BarMax and decided to give it a try. I work 50+ hours a week, have a one hour commute each way to work and have two toddlers who take up all my free time. Nonetheless, I decided to give it a whirl. At the start, I remembered nothing and got every single answer wrong. I listened to the lectures during my commute and did practice questions and flash cards a couple hours a week for a couple months, and it started sinking it. I took one week off work to cram, and each day I saw improvement through the repetition of answering questions and getting immediate explanations. I read through as many prior essays as I could in that time to give myself a shot. The day of the exam came and I went in pretty nervous, but after getting my results back, I scored a 167.2 on the MBE and a 316 on the UBE in whole. The pass rate was 45%, so I was definitely one of the few to pass.
