This is my objective and honest review. I have been trading with Tastyworks, nowadays Tastytrade, for several years now. I have used several other platforms and continue to recommend Tasty to anyone. I helped my family members open an account with Tasty because it is, in general, the best. Let's start with their requirements. Tastytrade is by far the most reasonable and accesible company out there to enable you trading a variety of products including stocks, options futures, options on futures, and crypto, all in one account. You can also have a cash account, no problem. There is a fair amount of options to fund and withdraw your account at no fees at all. Unlike other companies, margin requirements for trading are extremely reasonable, and accesible. You can short stocks with your margin account, you can day trade with your cash account, etc. Unlike many other brokers, Tastytrade is particularly awesome for options trading. This includes stocks and futures. When it comes to options, many companies only allow you to go long buying premium. Meanwhile, in Tastytrade you can really apply simple and complex option strategies with all kings of spreads with just capital for the collateral or even less than that with reduced margin requirements. Different than other brokers, Tastytrade supports Mac, Windows AND Linux. Yes, all of them. The Android and iOS apps are also available and ALL OF THEM ARE OUTSTANDING. I say this because I am aware of the complexity behind many of the features. But all you see is a clean, friendly, easy to use, clear and simple interface with just the things you need. Not only the data is relevant, but the colorimetry, size and presentation is adequate for you to see clearly and without forcing any eyes, like with other platforms. Continuing with the platform, I have to say that they are focused on simplicity and practicality. Executions are lighting fast and data is fast enough for most traders, a I trade a lot. There's barely is any issues with the platform. When other brokers are down, Tastytrade is up and running. The interface gives you all you need. It is the only platform to present options data in such a clear way with indicators and graphics to evaluate risk and profit objectively and practically. Most platforms present just a bunch of numbers in a list, even tiny enough, and are hard to interpret. With Tastytrade you can really make sense of all the option greeks. They are shown right when filling out the order ticket, on the option chains and, above all, it is also present graphically. No option on the Tastytrade platform is hard to reach or navigate. It is easily customizable in a clean simple interface. While can track your profit and loss including commissions easily by just dragging the mouse on activity by selecting the trades, there are many ways to do it. You can track your performance over a series of trades, even days or weeks apart, in the simplest possible way. Just type the ticker and click on the Option Chains tab. That's all it takes. You can have up and running several charts with or without external windows or external monitor. There's all the relevant indicators and more. The way I trade, I just wish VWAP would reset daily. You can also extract trade reports right from the platform by selecting them and exporting to a CSV file. Managing and tracking several accounts is also made simple with easy filtering for open positions and orders, whether working, cancelled or executed. Tracking dates for earnings releases couldn't be simpler as the ER date shows on the ticker info and also a date mark on the orders chain. There's also a real-time news tab. Customer support is extremely effective, clear, and easy to reach via chat or e-mail. They make things easy for you. The website is packed of learning material for you to master options trading. It is the only broker, and pretty much site on earth, with information on how to have a 100% options portfolio, from the experts. There's the Tasty TV show on the plaftform and you have the ability to track or copy trades from anyone on Tasty, under your responsibility since they all have their different styles and performance. But I tell you there are some incredibly talented traders in there I have been following. The fees are pretty much 0 for stocks and $1 for options. If you trade more than 10 contracts in a trade, the rest of them are 0 commission. No other broker offers this to the small retail trader, like me.
