they are super rude. I went in today to try and replace the lens of my blue light glasses into prescription and the worker just stared at me and laughed when I asked her the question, so I left. I came back later to the same girl and a new guy, and when I told him about my prior experience with the girl he said, “oh well she’s new” I didn’t know that was an excuse to be rude and laugh at someone for no reason. Like do your job. And then he continued to be rude and give attitude the whole time. Don’t go here.

I had an appointment in Moorpark…
I had an appointment in Moorpark scheduled for 3:15 pm and was told upon arrival that the doctor was running late. A few minutes later, another couple arrived and were taken in before me, despite arriving after I did. When I asked for clarification, the administrator said they were “expected” to be seen before me, which made no sense given my scheduled appointment time
I was then told I could either wait an additional 15 minutes or come back on Tuesday, with the comment that the optometrist on Tuesday is “less thorough” and doesn’t run late. That was an odd and unprofessional thing to say and didn’t inspire confidence in the practice
I waited and 45min later I managed to go in
Delays happen, but the lack of transparency, fairness, and professionalism in handling the situation was disappointing to say the least

Dishonest business practices, misleading consumers into purchasing Target brand contacts
Appointment was okay, but the doctor I saw this time lied and said that Rayban's contacts (my old prescription I was trying to renew) rebranded and "changed their name" Up&Up. This prevented me from purchasing contacts from the business I usually go to and kept me locked into Target's ecosystem. I have to now pay an extra $100 or more for a years supply of contacts now as a person with no insurance from Target only. I can't buy Up&Up brand at 1800-contacts or anywhere else. I will not be returning to this location for being dishonest and not just giving me an updated prescription for the Raybans contacts as I had previously.

The eyeware was supposed to be scratch resistant
The eyeware was supposed to be scratch resistant. However, they scratched miserably. The manage at the Target South Hills Village told me that I should have purchased some kind of policy. However, the people who sold me the product never mentioned the policy. Also, apparently that staff was all replaced because the people at that store indicated they were incompetent. Accordingly, they would not do anything for me.

It was my second time placing online…
It was my second time placing online order for my contacts,so basically I did reorder my previous prescription, since it didn’t change. After I placed my order,I received an email claiming that my order didn’t match my prescription, but it was fixed and good to go.I ended up getting absolutely wrong strength of my contacts, which means ,whoever corrected my order-made mistake, and filled my prescription incorrectly!!!When I called costumer service-the representative was horrible, and didn’t even try helping me to figure out how can I get a pair while my order being exchanged!!!And since I ended up opening the box and tried putting my contacts in-this is when I realized that prescription was wrong and I don’t see anything,so now I am worried about getting my refund!!!I should not be charged for company making a mistake like this!!!

My wife and I had one of the most…
My wife and I had one of the most unprofessional and frustrating experiences we’ve ever had at an optical center, and I feel obligated to warn others before they consider coming here.
Our appointments were scheduled for December 19, 2025. Because the online system wouldn’t allow joint scheduling, we booked them two hours apart—only for the optometrist to casually mention that we could have been seen together. That set the tone for what became a disorganized and careless experience.
After her exam, my wife tried to ask a simple question about insurance benefits. Instead of receiving help, she was met with a rushed, cold, and dismissive attitude. No effort to assist, no courtesy, nothing. We were told our glasses would arrive in about 14 days.
I never received any notification that my glasses were ready. When I called to check, the phone was answered with no greeting—just someone demanding my phone number. When I asked if the call might drop, I was snapped at and told the employee was “on her break” and would call back in 10 minutes. The call didn’t come for nearly 30.
When I asked why I hadn’t been notified, I was told they “didn’t have to” and that it wasn’t store policy. No apology, no concern. When I arrived to pick up my glasses, the same cold attitude continued. When I mentioned they didn’t feel right, I was brushed off with vague explanations and contradictory instructions. When I asked about my wife’s glasses, I was told she would “just have to wait” and call back in 14 days.
When my wife later called the store, she was greeted with “Optical. Hold!” and placed on hold for more than 10 minutes with no follow‑up. The tone was consistently irritated and uninterested in helping anyone.
Shortly after, I began experiencing headaches and visual distortion from the glasses I had just picked up. When I returned, a manager apologized, acknowledged ongoing issues with previous employees, and offered a refund and a replacement pair at no cost. I appreciated that—until the situation got even worse.
The refund never appeared on my account. When I called again, the same employee who had been dismissive before showed zero concern and talked over me repeatedly. She refused to connect me with a manager or provide any information about when one would be available.
Because my phone blocks private numbers, I missed the manager’s calls. Instead of waiting for a callback, she called my wife and claimed I had been “rude.” She then admitted she couldn’t process the refund to my card and had instead refunded it to my wife’s card—without permission, without asking, and without any justification. She even suggested my wife “just give the money” to me.
No professional business should ever handle customer payments this way.
At this point, the entire experience—from scheduling, to customer service, to prescription accuracy, to financial handling—has been unacceptable. My wife and I were treated with indifference, disrespect, and a complete lack of basic courtesy.
We’ve been a loyal Target customer for years, but this experience has made me seriously reconsider that loyalty. I hope others read this before deciding where to take their business.
I would rate them zero stars for their refusal to correct mistakes. After we filed the complaints, they have declined to make any corrections.

Use vision insurance get taking advantage of
Please if you read this review look at Target optical lame response. They'll look into it for me now, I don't need that I got the same glasses at Walmart with no line bifocals and polarized lenses for $70 out the door. Target wanted over $300 there's nothing to look at Target.
Was trying to use the website but it wouldn't accept my vision insurance even though I tried multiple times so there was an 800 number that I called for help.
Two star rating, both stars are for the gentleman who helped me over the phone, he was outstanding. He listened to my problem and he immediately worked to resolve it and to the best of his ability he did resolve it, but not to my satisfaction and that was out of his control.
The problem is Target optical is owned by luxottica and they always overcharge, in particular on insurance claims. I was trying to order the predator3 frame prescription sunglasses progressive bifocal. I have great vision insurance that covers a $200 frame and pretty much most everything except polarization and mirrored lenses. From Target optical this frame was retail 231 but on sale for $178, you only have two choices of lenses the Ray-Ban lenses or the target lenses and the target lens is actually cost $10 more.
I priced it out retail with the sale frame $550 when you put in the insurance the price went up to $590 but with insurance my out-of-pocket was still $355 and he asked if that was acceptable. I said absolutely not. One week later I walked into Walmart optical same frame $178 on sale. I got progressive bifocal polarized lenses the only difference is when you get them at Walmart they don't say Ray-Ban on the lens.
Exact same specs and prescription at Walmart my out-of-pocket was $70, at Target optical $355. Walmart gave me the sale price applied it to my vision insurance Target optical / luxottica says all we can't do that it's got to be retail they did that to me 2024 at glasses.com.
Stay away from Luxxotica online whether they're masquerading as ray-ban, target, glasses.com, they have phony rules they rip you off. Absolutely unbelievable the price difference - out of pocket $280 difference for the same pair of glasses, except the cheaper ones don't say Ray-Ban on the lenses No big deal! Luxottica keep your Ray-Ban logo and please find another insured person to rip off
