If zero stars were possible, I would leave that rating. Lens protection was added to my glasses without my permission or without them telling me it had been added. Store refused to honor the prices on their own store website. Ordered my glasses a month ago and still do not have them, and cannot get an answer as to why. Claims they were shipped to the store three weeks ago but they still haven't arrived there. Avoid Target Optical at all costs, unless you want to be ripped off and wait forever for an order if you receive it at all. By far the worst experience I have had at any eye doctor after wearing glasses most of my life.

This review applies to returns. I bought non-prescription sunglasses online, and they were shipped to me. Assuming since it's called TargetOptical, that their merchandise could be returned to a TargetOptical store inside Target. NOPE. Went to 2 stores. The first store had no idea how to make a return. Seriously? The second store said, We don't do those here. You can call them or try to do it online. I filled out the online form, and received an email saying I will receive a return lable within 2 days. Two days -seriously? Stay away. This business should not be affiliated with the trustworthy Target brand.

I ordered contact lenses through Target Optical and chose in-store pickup specifically because it was supposed to be faster than shipping. That is not how this went. UPS tracking confirmed my order was delivered to the store on 8/3 at 9am and signed for by someone named Jesse. I arrived around 5pm the same day to pick it up. The associate helping me at the counter, also named Jesse, could not locate my order anywhere and told me to come back another day. I do not understand how an order that arrived at 9am, and is a medical device I need to see, could not be processed and made available within the same business day. When I walked in trying to get help, an associate was sitting on their phone, so it clearly was not a staffing or time issue. Since then I have tried every channel available to get this resolved. I called customer service and went through a long phone tree only to be told the department was closed. I contacted live chat twice. In the first chat, I was told the order would be "investigated" with no real timeline, just a case number, and when I asked to speak with a supervisor, the agent ended the chat entirely without any response. In the second chat, a different agent told me chat cannot transfer to a supervisor at all and that I would need to call in. Days later, I still do not have my contacts. Tracking shows they were delivered and signed for at the store, but no one on staff or in support has been able to explain where they actually are or produce them. I have had to escalate this in writing to the company directly and file complaints with the Better Business Bureau and my vision insurance provider just to try to get a refund. If you are considering in-store pickup for a time-sensitive item like contacts, be aware that "delivered to store" does not mean the store can actually find or give you your order, and getting help when something goes wrong is extremely difficult. This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I have had, and I would not rely on this store or this pickup option again.

Arrived for 10:30 appointment at 10:15am. Sat for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I am Hispanic but not sure if that was the issue. But what successful company does that? I’m done with Target.

The fit of the glasses was not right. Unable to to see with progressive bifocal feature. I have sent in two request for return but have not received any response back from Target optical. You might think twice before you order online

I returned glasses never got refunded ordered another pair said delivery was scheduled for 6/26 on that date I call them then they said on the 3oth I got email today saying July 7 VERY DISAPPOINTED IN TARGET OPTICAL NEVER REFUND MY MONEY FROM MY RETURN AND MAKING ME WAIT ALMOST A MONTH FOR NEW PAIR I CANT EVEN SEE WITHOUT MY GLASSES THEY NEED TO MAKE THIS RIGHT OR SIMPLE NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN....

I had a very bad experience ordering from Target optical . I ordered the wrong contact lenses by accident (I ordered a brand/correction that I used to use, but had a prescription for a different brand/correction). I tried to cancel the order as soon as I realized my mistake, but you can’t cancel orders once placed. Even though I uploaded my current prescription which did not match what I ordered, they still sent me the order, which I think is against regulation. Then I tried to return the contacts in the store and they said I had to initiate the online return and wait 48 hours for the return label. I never got the return label. So now I can’t even return contacts that I can’t use.

Order canceled without notice due to valid prescription error; insurance benefits wrongfully held. I am a first-time customer writing to report an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience with Target Optical Ecomm.Timeline of Events:May 21, 2026: Placed an online order for contact lenses for my son using our EyeMed vision benefits.June 8, 2026: Checked on the status after my son confirmed nothing arrived. I had already received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from EyeMed showing the claim went through.June 8 – June 12, 2026: Corresponded with Target Optical customer service. They revealed Target had canceled the order internally without ever notifying me.The Error: They claimed the cancellation was due to an expired prescription. This is completely false. The prescription is valid until April 2027. Resolution Denied: I emailed a copy of the valid prescription used when the order was placed and requested the order be processed immediately and requested Target Optical provide expedited shipping, as my son is now completely out of lenses. Target Optical refused to process the order. Insurance Issue: 6/12 They stated they would now release my insurance benefits. If Target canceled the order weeks ago, those benefits should have been released instantly so I could shop elsewhere. Because of Target Optical’s system error and poor communication, it is now mid-June and my son is left completely without contacts while I am forced to start over with a new merchant. This was my first experience with Target OpticaL and I would not recommend to anyone.
