Move from NJ 10/29-11/02 Started with a reasonable quote of +2,100 that turned into +3,100 and then +450 due they couldn't bring there truck into my complex, the $450. was for them to rent a home depot truck ($19.99 for the first hour) after they left I found a TV that had screen damage (replaced for 191.00) sofa was damaged, had missing items (which were not listed) Alexa Echo dot, missing chair screws all boxes and debris left in hallway on top that they gave me a pick up time of 8-12pm then 12-3pm that I called to see if they were still coming arriving before 4pm. My only surprise was the speed of delivery, BEWARE

We’re sorry to hear you were unhappy with parts of the move. Estimates are based on the inventory and access conditions provided at booking, and pricing can change if the actual shipment volume is larger than originally quoted or if additional circumstances at pickup or delivery require alternate arrangements. That includes situations where standard truck access is restricted and a smaller shuttle vehicle is needed.
We also understand your frustration regarding the condition of certain items, missing parts, and debris left behind. Those are concerns that should be documented and reviewed through the proper claims and customer service channels. Pickup windows can also shift due to scheduling and route delays, even when updates are provided.
We do appreciate your acknowledgment of the quick delivery, but we understand that does not outweigh the concerns you raised. If you would like this reviewed further, please send your job number and contact information so management can look into the pricing, damages, and service issues directly.

Contracted for a small move for my…
Contracted for a small move for my elderly parents and finalized the list a week prior, but when the movers came they had a different list and wanted more money, then was told the delivery would be on a certain date and two weeks later still no household goods and they are without a mattress and walkers and there is not estimated date of arrival. Terrible experience so far.
Response from Everest Moving SolutionsApr 16, 2026
We’re sorry for the frustration, but additional charges do not happen “for no reason.” Pricing is based on the inventory actually shipped, and if more items are added beyond the finalized list, the cost will increase accordingly. Extra space, extra handling, and extra weight are not free.
Delivery timing is also subject to routing, scheduling, and logistics, and estimated dates are not guarantees. We understand it is especially difficult when essential household items are involved, but that does not change the fact that revised inventory and transit timing can affect the move.
If the customer would like the matter reviewed, we are willing to look at the original inventory, the updated shipment list, and the dispatch records directly.

Predatory business practices -- avoid this company
After experiencing Swift Shift's services firsthand, I feel compelled to warn others about this company's problematic business practices. What started as an affordable moving solution quickly became a nightmare of hidden fees, poor communication, and accountability issues.
Swift Shift initially provided an extremely competitive estimate that was significantly lower than other companies I contacted. This should have been my first red flag. After paying the required non-refundable deposit to "secure" my moving date, the real problems began.
On moving day, the actual movers (who, I later learned, were from a completely different third-party company) arrived and immediately informed me that the price would be nearly double the original estimate. They cited additional charges for stairs, distance from the truck, packing materials, and various other fees that were never mentioned in the initial quote. With my belongings already loaded and limited options available, I felt forced to pay the inflated price -- how can you back out on moving day? Tenants were moving in two days after my moving day. Swift Shift knows this is typically the case and exploit.
Once the move was underway, getting any information about my shipment became nearly impossible. Phone calls went unreturned and when I did get through, I was hung up on. Promised delivery dates came and went without explanation, and when I did manage to reach someone, they seemed to have no knowledge of my specific situation. The lack of tracking information and constant delays added tremendous stress to an already difficult process.
What Swift Shift fails to make clear upfront is that they operate primarily as a broker, not an actual moving company. This means they're essentially a middleman who contracts your move out to other companies. When problems arise - and they will - Swift Shift points fingers at the third-party movers, while those movers claim they're just following Swift Shift's instructions. This creates a frustrating cycle where no one takes responsibility for the issues.
Swift Shift was unresponsive to my calls and emails about insurance information. Getting documentation and information about where my items were and when they’d arrive was like pulling teeth.
Moving is stressful enough without dealing with misleading, predatory business practices and poor customer service. While Swift Shift's initial estimates might seem attractive, the hidden costs, lack of communication, and accountability issues make them a company I cannot recommend. There are honest, reliable moving companies out there - Swift Shift is not one of them.

We strongly dispute this version of events and do not agree with the claims being made here. Swift Shift Van Lines does not engage in “predatory” or misleading business practices, and we reject the accusation that the company intentionally hides fees or avoids responsibility.
Estimates are based on the inventory, access, and service details provided at the time of booking. If the actual move involves additional items, stairs, long carries, packing materials, or other services beyond the original scope, pricing can increase accordingly. That is not a hidden fee — that is a revised move based on the actual job being performed.
We also do not agree with the suggestion that customers are left with no information or that the company simply disappears. Delivery timing depends on dispatch, routing, and carrier logistics, and while delays can occur in interstate moving, that does not mean anyone was misled. Communication records and job documentation matter, and public accusations do not override the actual file.
As for the characterization of the company’s role, the customer’s paperwork governs the move relationship, services, and applicable terms. We reject the attempt to portray standard industry coordination as deception.
We take complaints seriously, but we do not accept false, exaggerated, or defamatory statements as fact. If the customer wants the matter reviewed, it should be done through the proper process using the actual estimate, inventory, billing, and dispatch records.
If you want, I can make this even sharper and more blunt so it sounds less polished and more like a direct factual slap-back.

Bait and switch
Bait and switch. Had to go to my bank to get my money back. they charged $999 deposit instead of the $1000 they said they took to avoid grand larceny my college says.
Response from Everest Moving SolutionsApr 16, 2026
We strongly dispute this accusation. The deposit and payment terms are disclosed as part of the booking process, and charges are not structured around the kind of false narrative being suggested here. Any claim that a payment amount was set to “avoid grand larceny” is completely untrue and irresponsible.
If the scope of the move changed because additional items were added or the inventory differed from the original quote, pricing would be adjusted accordingly. That is not a “bait and switch” — that is a revised estimate based on the actual move.
If the customer pursued a banking dispute, that is their right, but we do not agree with the characterization of the transaction or the allegations being made here.

Terrible company
Deceptive pricing. They said I had enough space for all of my furniture (and more actually!) but on actual moving day they mis quoted me by 150 square feet and wanted 1500$ additional. The broker wouldn’t talk to me. Pushed me over to the supervisor who was very rude. Would not refund my deposit. Terrible company. Would not recommend to anyone.
Response from Everest Moving SolutionsApr 16, 2026
We strongly dispute this characterization. The original quote is based on the inventory and details provided at the time of booking. If additional items are added or the actual shipment takes up significantly more space than originally listed, the price will increase accordingly. Extra volume is not free, and that is not deceptive pricing.
Deposits are governed by the booking terms, and they are not automatically refundable simply because the final move scope changes. If a customer’s inventory exceeds the original estimate, the move has to be repriced based on the actual space required.
We do not agree with the claim that anyone was intentionally misled, and we reject the suggestion that this was anything other than a move that changed from the original quoted scope.

Terrible service and fraudulent practices
Right after signing the contract we were funneled off to subcontractors. One in New York and another for delivery in North Carolina. The subcontractors who did the pick up swindled my son out of an additional $363.75 saying more than our 300 cubic feet was used because they couldn't stack boxes on top of furniture. However, when the moving truck arrived in North Carolina, all of the boxes were stacked on furniture in the back of the truck. Second, we paid for packing and unpacking but the guy who delivered was by himself and said he didn't have time to unpack anything. Therefore, we are owed 1/2 of the $300 packing fee.
Response from Everest Moving SolutionsApr 16, 2026
We disagree with this version of events. If the shipment used more space than originally estimated because of the actual inventory presented at pickup, the move would be remeasured and repriced accordingly. Additional volume is billed based on the shipment as loaded, not on what a customer hoped would fit.
As for packing and unpacking, those services depend on the actual scope performed and the delivery conditions documented on the job. If the customer believes a specific paid service was not completed, that concern should be reviewed against the order, dispatch notes, and delivery paperwork.
But to be clear, if additional items were added and more space was used, that is not “swindling” — that is a revised charge based on the actual move.

Swiftshift connected me with a great Moving Company
I was not happy with the beginning of this journey. Swift Shift is not transparent. If you book through swift Shift make sure you clarify your items snd get everything in writing. My movers turned this into a much better experience. My movers were professional, punctual and great packers. I was amazed with the care my items were given. I would definitely use this company again

Don't Waste Your Time With This…
Don't Waste Your Time With This Company.
Trying to plan a move from Colorado to Georgia and they reached out to me. The pricing was fair enough, and I agreed to a down payment. I was told to cancel within 48 hours if it didn't work. I chatted with my spouse and the dates and money didn't work out for us at the moment. I called the next day to cancel, and even chatted with billing. They said it was cancelled and we would be fully refunded. A week later I get an email from billing about the move and confirming it. I responded and said we cancelled it. I called the salesman we had and he said I didn't do everything I needed to do and now we won't be refunded. The move wasn't planned until March 15th and billing said they already have a contractor to come out and nothing can be refunded. So multiple lies have been told to me from multiple people. I read all the paperwork and we should get 90% back if I failed to cancel within 48 hours. But I did cancel in the 48 hour window, so I should get the whole amount back. They refuse to refund anything. This is a predator company and takes advantage of people if you don't jump through their hoops after you did everything right, they add more things that should've been done. This is unacceptable and very disappointing. Save your time and money and find a different company. We're a military family and could've used and spread the word if the company was legitimate. Do better.
Response from Everest Moving SolutionsApr 16, 2026
We strongly dispute the claim that anyone was intentionally misled. Cancellations and refunds are governed by the signed terms and the timing and manner in which cancellation is properly processed. It is not enough to assume a move is cancelled without the required completion of the cancellation procedure under the agreement.
If there was confusion between sales, billing, and the customer regarding cancellation status, that should be reviewed against the actual call records, emails, and contract terms. But we do not agree with the accusation that this company is “predatory” or that it simply invents rules after the fact.
Refund eligibility depends on the agreement and the documented cancellation timeline, not on one side’s interpretation after the fact. If the customer believes the file was handled incorrectly, the matter should be reviewed through the proper internal process using the actual records.
