DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY OF YOUR MONEY!! FIND SOMEONE LOCAL AND REPUTABLE!!
We paid for a 97 subaru engine in February. Over 4 months of drama and rudeness. Promises of returned call. Promises of email notifications. Never had an invoice number or order number or really, any paperwork from SW at all. Except for some phone calls and a bill of lading, there is no paper trail.
The first engine was not shipped until after 2 weeks, and then of course a week to ship. When it arrived, the mechanic said it was the wrong engine. SW eventually sent another, and it was also not the right engine. The third engine was the right one, but it blew a head gasket with 2 minutes of highway driving. SW did send another engine, but of course we had to pay installation again, and for a new radiator because that went bad with the overheated engine.
It's been driving fine for a month now, except that another gasket is leaking. This one is very specific, and I'm trying to find out the source of the engine, you know, like what car year the engine came from. On hold forever, transferred to different departments... still on hold.

!!!!FRAUD ALERT----!!!!DON'T BUY …
!!!!FRAUD ALERT----!!!!DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!SCAM
Before i purchased my engine with these people, i showed them their rating on complaint websites and that they have low rating and a lot of complaints. I asked them if i purchase from them, will my experience be different. They sent me a long email saying they sell a lot of engines and some people are just complainers but i shouldn't have any problems as they sell a lot of engines.
Well, i had the worst problems. I purchased my engine around June 23rd 2017. they said they will ship my engine within 7-14 days.
First Problem. i scanned my new credit card to them and within 24 hours, someone bought a game with it in Cyprus. yes the country Cyprus. i asked them about it and they denied it. The bank cancelled my card and they said i should have never scanned a card with proof of address and ID as they request on their website.
Second, after 14 days no engine, no shipping tracking number, phone calls not answer, you get through sells and as soon as you tell them its about previous order, you are transferred to shipping department which doesn't really exist.
On July 14th, 2017, i talked to parts department who was also working on shipping my orders and he said my engine is ready to go and waiting for the shipping company to pickup and i should have my shipping tracking number by Monday morning July 17th, 2017.
on July 17th, i inquire about tracking number and no answer for half a day. in the afternoon, i was told i should be talking to a manager instead .
Four days later, I started asking for refunds at this point as it has been 3 weeks. I receive a call from "John", the guy i email my credit card and ID, who tells me, he just fired two people because they lost my engine and they really didn't have anything to ship to me. be mindful this is 3 weeks after i purchase the engine.
"John" tells me he should be sending me an email by Friday July 21st, 2017 with information on new engine and new shipping date.
I called him Saturday July 22nd, 2017 and Monday 24th, 2017 and no response to my emails or phone calls.
Because i paid with a credit card (thank god), i filed a dispute with bank of America about FRAUD and merchant not received. 4 days later, bank of America refunded my $9000.
This people are SCAM and even though i did my research, i confronted them about my findings on their company ratings and complaints but still ended up buying from them and took a chance. well, it was a scary chance i will not take again.
they have many complaints in many websites that do the same thing according to the articles and complaints below.
look at google first page about these people.

I purchased a used engine in February
I purchased a used engine in February. Theirony website said all engines were compression tested and had a warranty. It took 8 weeks for my engine to arrive at the shop. Less than 3 months and under 3000 miles later and the engine had head failure. I called the warranty department and was on hold over 20 minutes before it disconnected me. I sent an email to the warranty department and still haven't had any response over 2 weeks later. Their warranty department appears to be a black hole. This company is scamming people!

FRAUD...buyer bewareI
I ordered an engine from SW Engine based on the quote they sent me that was for an engine with 70k miles. After being told engine would arrive in 10 days it finally arrived in 21 days. During this time the one time I called for an update the phone was answered by the rudest woman who would immediately transfer me to an extension that would just ring and ring. This went on for one full day so I sent an e-mail and finally the next day received a message my engine had shipped. I went to pick up my car yesterday and was handed the paperwork and the sticker that was on the engine.. Their own sticker off the engine has 98k miles listed on it...of course they won't take my phone calls or return my messages today. I left a message for a call back and if I don't hear back today I will be in contact with the Attorney Generals office this is fraud. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH SW ENGINES THEY ARE LIARS! I wish I found this site before I ordered. I would have preferred to work it out with them but they don't even take phone calls....except of course to sell you something!

This company has no clue on customer service…
This company has no clue with regards to customer service or how to treat a customer period. I was assisting a charity company purchase a motor for their truck and ending up buying from this company which I saw on like. Wish I saw the posts prior and would have never done it. They did well when it came to selling me the engine and collecting the $8500 to purchase it. But after ten phone call messages and no calls back ever over a month later I finally spoke to the manager and he told me he would let me know the status of the engine the next day. He indicated it was lost in shipping and needs to find it. Well after calling four more times, the shipping person tells me the manager lied and the motor was determined to be defective over a month prior. I was transferred to the manager and he hung up without saying a word. I call back, he answers the phone and says your credited back, hung up the phone again. I would never ever buy a single thing for this company and has zero respect for its customers. If they knew it was defective, just tell me and I would find another one. Instead the charity company they did this too, lost almost two months and no engine. Not even an apology and should be out of business with the way they treat people. The manager is like a three year old child. They would not even answer the phone after I called a few hours later and once they did pick up, just hung up again. I own a lot of large shops and can promise we will never buy anything from a company like this. Could not even imagine if a motor actually arrived and was bad. The police should be called on this company.

Warranty is a scam!
Ordered an engine & waited more than 3 weeks to get it (the engine) to the dealership. It took 7 days for dealership to install. Engine had a miss, Scott (an employee of SW Engines), asked me to have the dealership diagnosis & find out what the problem was. Scott said he'd send me a warranty claim to fill out. Due to the limited number of warranty claims you can have with SW Engines, I let Scott know I wanted a replacement engine because the truck had not left dealership yet. Scott asked me for a quote to replace the engine & wanted to see the repair order on installing the engine. He received both within a couple days of his request. The dealership found the #8 cylinder was bad. After waiting another 2-3 weeks I was sent a replacement engine. I sent final invoice for r & r Engines from dealership. After several attempts to contact Scott @ SW Engines I finally used a different phone to call. When he answered he told me that I didn't activate the warranty within the 10 day period and then HUNG UP on me. How's that for good customer service? They are refusing to pay for the labor part of their claimed parts & labor warranty.

Sales rep Joe should be fired!!
SW Engines is all about customer service when you are wanting to buy an engine. They took my money fast and shipped the engine. It arrived damaged and dirty. My mechanic recommended sending it back. So I have made several attempts to contact them about returning the engine and cannot get anyone to call me back. Joe, a sales rep , was very rude and hung up on me twice today. I expect someone to call me back and treat me with some dignity!!
