Discovered these guys for the first time whilst looking for an engine for a customer's car we have here in our Indiana shop (LKQ had nothing). Noticed they had an engine w 44k miles reasonably priced with a FREE 5 year/75,000 mile warranty (wow!). At the same time, i found a 28k mile engine on eBay for about the same price. The warranty SWengines offered made it seem like a no brainer on which one we were looking to go with. SO i called them for the first time ever. Explained our situation, inquired about this engine and their warranty and the gentleman who picked up the phone couldn't be bothered with any inquiries about our potential $8000 first time purchase. When i asked about what kind of major things may null and void this warranty he told me "read the terms and service on our page" and then LITERALLY hung up on me. NEEDLESS TO SAY, it only took 1 preliminary phone call to show us that we shouldn't and will never do any type of business with this company. We'll take our business to eBay instead. also want to note that this business hides all their bad reviews from their website. all happy, 5 star rating customers on their end but once you go to the actual sites these reviews are being posted on, you will see that they have a very STRONG 1 STAR RATING. take your business elsewhere!

ordered engine with VIN etc to assure the right engine. They sent an engine set up for a standard transmission, instead of automatic, which required labor to exchange parts. They have refused to credit the labor and parts due to the wrong engine. Do NOT buy from these people as they have no ability to make the wrongs, right. sure wish I would have read the reviews as there are quite a few dissatisfied customers.

Terrible experience do not buy from here. Doesn't honor their warranty and makes up lies. Bought an engine and 900 miles later the engine seized , they claim the engine over heated and the heat plugs were melted which was definitely not the case, we have many photographic evidence proving heat plugs were perfectly fine and not melted. They approved the replacement engine and were supposed to honor their warranty, 5 years / 70,000 miles LABOR parts included. They said you should receive you're labor reimbursement soon and after months of stringing us along, saying you should get it soon in this next couple days on and on, they finally came back to us after months later, saying we're not going to reimburse you for labor due to the 1st engine overheating which is completely false, and proceeded to hang up on me. Very rude, terrible experience, DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Not a trust worthy company

**Title: DO NOT BUY: Cost me $2,300 in labor for a stripped-down junkyard engine** If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered a 5.0L Coyote engine for my 2018 Ford F-150 from S.W. Engines. I paid $5,300 because they promised me a "complete" engine with only 44,000 miles on it. Here is the nightmare that followed: 1. It took them 27 days just to get the engine delivered to my mechanic. 2. It was a classic bait-and-switch. It did not arrive as a complete engine. It arrived stripped down to a bare long block, missing the manifolds and other components. 3. It had mismatched Champion and Autolite spark plugs in it. Anyone who knows Ford Coyotes knows they only run on factory Motorcraft plugs. This proved it was a high-mileage junkyard pull that someone had already tried (and failed) to fix a misfire on. 4. After I paid my mechanic $2,300 in labor to install it, the engine immediately had a massive top-end tick and knock from a collapsed lifter. It was complete junk. The only "inspection" S.W. Engines bothered to do was pulling the oil pan off and looking inside. That was it. They completely ignored the top-end noise and refused to properly inspect the lifters or valve train. When I filed a warranty claim, their customer service was an absolute joke. They left me on hold until I hung up, ignored emails, and tried to stall. It took two full months of fighting, and I finally had to tell them I was done calling and was starting the legal process. Two weeks later, they finally refunded my $5,300. The absolute kicker? They told me to just "throw the engine in the trash" because they knew it was completely worthless and didn't want to pay the return freight. I got my refund, but I am still out $2,300 in mechanic labor out of my own pocket because of their lies. Do not do business with this company.

Southwest engines are liars. They do not help you. It will sell you a broken engine and they will not help you replace it or try to give you a refund. I’m going to get my lawyer involved in this. This is very unfair paying all this money and then you get messed over like this by this company. If I have to I will go down to the headquarters myself and cause a problem if they do not help me or give you my money back.

If I could, I would leave no stars, but I’m giving them four stars so everyone sees my review. Sent the wrong part and then never sent the replacement after spending money and sending the wrong item back. Charged me a restocking fee of over $1500 and it was because their mistake of sending me the wrong part!!! Credit card company couldn’t help me get the full credit back because they are claiming restocking fee and shipping fee ,which is BS because they sent the wrong part. SCAM!!!!!

Sent the engine back immediately after receiving warranty sent a truck to pick up. they received the engine and said I would be refunded 5-7 buisness days. Sw engines kept the $5.000.00 dollars and refuse to respond any further. They got the money and the engine. I’ve filed a chargeback investigation for fraud . Still pending it’s been over a month since the 5-7 day refund promised. Do not order from this scam company.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!! My engine blew a month after install and they the said that they don't really have a 5 year parts and labor warranty. Not even a 4 weeks warranty. Their engines are shit and their non-existent warranty is even worse! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!
