If I could give this company zero starts, I would. DO NOT USE SUNPOWER. Had a new roof rolled into the deal. The roof started leaking after the solar installation. Sunpower did an "investigation" and took zero responsibility.

My system stopped reporting and producing power in June of this year. It did the same thing last year for 3 months. The tech who fixed it in 2021 said the inverter was poor and probably needed replacement but Sunpower said no at the time. Over the last 4 months Sunpower has had a tech out to my property 3 times. The system has not worked each time after the visit. I was told at the last visit that Sunpower would replace the inverter and to expect a call to make appointment. Received a call from Sunpower saying my inverter is now fixed and the issue is a monitoring component that is not covered by warrant and they are closing my case# 02820883. I objected but Sunpower said they could see that system is working but I can’t and need to get monitoring system replaced. I don’t see how they can monitor system when I can’t. Further had this been fixed properly and not taken so long it probably would still be under warranty. My inverter light is still red which means it’s dead. Bottom line: SunPower has not fully addressed this issue and I continue to be without power production. I’m desperate for assistance.

I purchased a home over a year ago with a $120,000, two year old SunPower system. The solar system worked great for nine months but has now been down for three months (I have the Edison stubs I have had to pay.) As commented by most other reviewers, I too found it impossible to talk to a tech. I found a typical 2 hour wait to talk to anyone. After finally getting through I was told a technician would be out at my house on December 21. This would mean I am without solar for five months and will have to pay 5 months to Edison. I can make an effort to talk to a tech to try for an earlier tech support time but they have already told me this was an earlier time. I notice that SunPower respondes to every posting but I sure like to hear from the other reviewers the satisfaction they got form the SunPower reply. I highly recommend those who have a problem to file a report with your states Utilities Commission. Here in California they have a division just for problems with solar systems.

My complaint is the same as several others listed here. I noticed a spike in my electric bill. I contacted SunPower and was advised that my system was no longer communicating with them or was offline. I had them reset my SunPower access and I find that before my system was offline, it was not producing the same amount of energy by half. I called back and I advised them that one of my inverters is showing zero production and has a red light indicating a problem. I had been advised that SunPower monitored energy production closely and would advise its customers if there was a problem. The SunPower representative that I spoke with stated that SunPower received to many error/problem messages that it had overwhelmed them. Instead of advising customers of the issues, they just disregarded them as they felt it was all related to the communication issue. I complained about my energy bills and my lease payment and asked for some kind of help or monetary adjustment. I was advised that as per my contract I would receive an adjustment if my system did not produce the guaranteed amount. This is unlikely to cover the increase in my payments to my local energy provider. I had my case referred to a supervisor and was advised I would receive a "call" within 48 hours. Ivan emailed me within this time and used a blanket statement saying that the communication issue is my only problem and that once they have the parts someone would contact me to make the repair. I responded that this is not the only issue and sent photos of my inverter showing that it was not working. Finally, he listens and makes 2 work orders. They have to outsource this work order. I emailed back that I am glad he is helping me and asked to at least stop auto drafting my lease payment for a system that is not working and Ivan does not respond to this email or the next 3. It takes 2 months for the first visit where the company tells me that they will repair problems but actually just looked at the inverters and said that it was probably just the communication issue. Next visit, they replace the communication box a few weeks after. I called again and asked them to help because now my energy company is charging me $210-342/month on top of my lease payment when I typically spend $30/month. I am currently scheduled for another site visit on 10/24/2022 and my first contact was 7/1/2022 and I have no faith that they are going to repair or replace this inverter. I had asked 3 times to speak with Ivans supervisor and I was ignored the first two times and the 3rd request was made today. I have a call into JAMS to begin arbitration and I plan to report them on several platforms. This company has zero respect for their customers and are not able to manage service for leased solar systems in a timely manner!! I highly recommend not going into any contract with them.

My system stopped reporting in June of this year. For the first two months, the SunPower response was "system upgrade issues". By September, that was no longer the issue. I sent numerous emails and made numerous phone calls, and received responses with the typical platitudes and apologies, but no help. Bottom line: SunPower does not care about the customer. Their actions, or lack thereof, belie any cookie cutter responses they spew. If you are looking to invest in solar panels, stay away from SunPower.

I am having issues with my inverter and it is not the first time, I had issues with the same inverter last year it took sunpower 6 weeks to fix it and it is not working again, I informed them 6 weeks ago and still no one can tell me when and if they will come and repair it or change it, it is under warranty, they have opened a case number but since no news and no answer to my emails. My solar dealer is telling me that they are in the middle of restructuring their customer service support and have no one yet identified to support my system! Is there a legal path I can follow to get them to support their equipment under warranty? I rely on my solar production a lot and having to use the grid costs me a fortune . I love my solar panels but if I had to do it again I would not select SunPower because of their terrible support, be aware!

Sunpower began our installation 8/23/2022. 10/11/2022 we still do not have installation completed nor have repairs been completed for damages to our home. Our first bill for sunpower is due in a few days ... and the system still does not work. Customer service is impossible to reach with greater than an hour hold and then no answers or call backs. They created an executive account response or whatever, but that guy does nothing and can't be bothered to respond. Sunpower has also let their misogynistic beliefs show through very clearly. Although the loan and the electric bill is in my name, they continue to try to push everything through in my husband's name. Obviously this doesn't work when he doesn't have an electric bill. I noticed our previous reviews here on trustpilot were taken down even though my husband and I both verified our identity. My husband is a 100% disabled navy veteran. This company is antimilitary/veteran. #misogynistcompany #antiveteran #antimilitary

My Panels have never Worked! For over 4 years I have allowed SunPower to automatically withdraw my monthly payments. My bill is always $400 to $500 a month. Tech's have come out and still no service, $0 has been reimbursed to me. Customer service holds are 1hr. Holds. They won't even send me my history reports. Thieves! I am totally taken advantage of. My panels came with my house!!! I had to use this company. I am being taken advantage of, ripped off, abused. A single mother! 4 years of this! I'm looking for an attorney!!!
