My biggest mistake was to go with Sunpower solar, I can not compare customer service with any other Solar provider, but after sales support from SunPower is horrible. Hours long wait time on the phone lines and still tech is not knowledgeable. They will find ways to end the call without providing any solution. Emails to customers support goes unanswered for weeks. Looking to report them to BBB as totally frustrated.

I first saw flight to say I interviewed nine different solar companies price cited to go to Sun Power. Their solar panels seemed more durable than their competition and that’s the reason I went with them Here are my complaints when my roof is inspected by a third-party company and we need understand that a third-party company. Inspected my roof prior to my solar panels going on the roof. He said my roof is good for years six months later I need a new roof Sun Power is telling me that I have to pay for this out of my pocket. Once again my solar panels have been on my roof for six months at six years, six months, 180 days 26 weeks So you call Sun Power and it’s like a merry-go-round give you something to do gift shop Selena, where nobody wants to be helpful no one they tell you to call this person to touch they can’t help you you have to call Sun Power back then you call Sun Power and you’re like we don’t know what’s wrong and like here’s what’s wrong. Your customer service sucks. Nobody cares They take your money and that’s it after that your head then they don’t even know who you are anymore, but don’t take your money that’s it. Go with a company that is going to have direct customer service. My salesman can’t help me. He’s put me gave me a couple phone numbers give me a couple peoples names but he can’t help me. nice guy Kevin park nice guy , my customer service rep Melissa whatever her last name is she is as useless as a techno bowl. I think she’s the one running the merry-go-round because she’s useless and everybody else I’ve talked with Sun Power they just keep spitting in the merry-go-round. It’s been about 68 weeks now I’ve been trying to get the solar panels removed from my roof you’re still up there , why because nobody will help me and I cannot use a third-party company because I would violate the warranty that I have but if I use the warranty who do I call just nobody wants to take ownership nobody is liable nobody cares

The SunPower monitoring system has not worked for months. This is not the first time it happens but in the past it has been for a shorter length of time and has been fixed. This time around the monitoring system stopped working since about August of 2022. I have called several times, at first they had me trouble shoot the system saying it might be an internet connection issue. When that didn't work they said they would need to monitor the system virtually for a few days then they would contact me. I was not contacted so I called in again, then I was told they had to monitor the system for a few weeks, again I waited. I called again, finally they said they would have someone contact me via email with a technician appointment. Two weeks went by and nothing. I called today and the rep began to tell me that they had to monitor the system virtually, are you kidding me! after some back and forth of explaining to them that I had already been through this and I needed them to send out a technician she finally agreed to put me through to the department that sets up the appointments but first told me that they would need my credit card number and there would be a charge of $300 for the visit!! are you kidding me! The panels are only three years old and already having so many issues yet they expect me to pay that much money for someone to come out , when I have been having to pay even more money on my electricity bill because the panels are not working right! I paid for the panels in full when I purchased the home and in the beginning they were so helpful but now it feels like they could care less. What a waste of money! If anything they should reimburse me for the higher electricity bill i have had to pay because of this "system communication error" or at least wave the technician visit fee.

Current case initiated 2/17/23 is a request to have a technician repair circuit showing zero voltage. Rep promised to send email with case number on 2/17/23, but did not. Also promised to follow up prior unresolved cases that have been ignored, but did not... Unresolved Cases concerning failed reporting for July and August 2022 and completely deleted system history: 03057634 03057823 02982518 02931053 02874745 If I could grant less than 1 star, I would. SunPower "Customer Service" appears to exist only to deflect customers from getting issues resolved. SunPower has cost me thousands of dollars by ignoring their system failures. When I called repeatedly for months to report a failed inverter, I was told the system was performing fine. When I called and emailed to let them know their reporting system had dropped my entire system history, they refused to respond. When I called to let them know 1 of 4 circuits showed no voltage and one of the connectors may have burned up, I was told the system was performing fine. Avoid SunPower products if at all possible.

Our system went offline at the end of December, after the initial support call it was determined that a service call was needed and we would hear within 24 hours. We did not and have never heard back from support. We have made 4 follow-up calls, each time we are given vague responses with SunPower laying blame on a subcontractor for not contacting us. We requested escalation 2 weeks ago and still have received no response. Called for the 5th time on February 15th and were advised that SunPower was still waiting and little else could be done.

SunPower took over my contract from Green Streets. After admitting that they have responsibility for our contract, they told me they decided not to support Green Street customers anymore, so I'll have to pay out of pocket if I want to complete installation properly. I'm out thousands of dollars. Besides the most outrageous, above, they have been a nightmare to work with since day one, never calling back, never completing customer service tickets, and I'm now trying to get warranty coverage because my system has produced only a fraction of the expected power. I would never do business with them again.

Liars. Their warranty is meaningless. I’ve had 2 dead panels since May 2022. SunPower case number 02783932. DON’T BUY SUNPOWER.

Overpriced and low quality. Horrible customer service, rude and unwilling to be helpful whatsoever. They are not honest upfront, and later they offer absolutely no services accusing me of “negligence”. Very disappointing.
