Dont Let Them Pressure You, Check the Reviews
I received a pre-approved letter in the mail from Mustangs Advisors offering a 3% debt consolidation loan for $40,000 with a monthly payment of $164. So i called to see what was the offer all about. Nice young lady took some general information and said that one of their agents would call me back. Figuring they were busy, I said ok, hung up and did some research on the company Mustangs (always check those ratings - good & bad). A few days later I received the call back from a different company, Strategic Counseling, about the offer and i immediately wanted to know why did the company's name change. The agent fed me some phony bologna about how the 2 companies work together and fed me the spill on how he could fix my debt. He just needed my DOB and SSN so he could run a soft credit report. I told him he couldnt have that information yet because I still had questions about Strategic Counseling since this wasnt the company I was contacted with by mail. Also told him that i had to do some research on his company, and that I still dont understand how a $164 payment is going to pay off a $40k loan (164month x 12months x 20years = 39,360 before the 3% int rate is even added). He got mad and told me, "well I guess this conversation is over and there will not be a need for us to call you back". True colors came out when I asked him to wait. They can't answer the tough financial questions, and they try too hard to get your pertinent credentials. Leave this company alone. I dont foresee anything good coming out of a company that acts like this. If you dont want me to research you, you dont want me to do business with you.
