Very happy with service!

I have recorded evidence to back up my story and I am going to approach media outlets to reach a wider audience with this. I want to start off by saying that I have never experienced customer service this decompartmentalized, complicated and time consuming in my entire life. After having an unnecessarily long back and forth call with Sony extending over 13 months now, in an effort to get my Sony Xperia Z3's defective screen repaired, my phone was thrown out. My phone broke on December 14th, 2015 and I had bought the device through a 3-year contract on December 20th, 2014 with a manufacturers-warranty, which covers the phone for 1 year if a defect is found with the device. The way my phone broke was by me simply walking to school with the phone in my front pocket, and by the time I got to school, shards of glass were falling off of the phone and from a fractured screen that was facing inwards towards my leg muscle. I have had several smartphones before this, and not once have I broken a single screen. I was especially taken back by this because I had only walked a few blocks and had not fallen or been hit by anything. Once sending my phone in for repair, they tried to tell me that my phone was out of warranty, even though we had cleared this up earlier in a series of calls with documentation proving that it was within warranty when the screen spontaneously cracked. I then received a quote from the repair facility saying that they are not going to fix my phone unless I pay $236.50 to have the screen repaired, and much to my surprise, the battery also needed replacing. The battery was apparently significantly swollen within the phone, which is a defect. In this same quote, the technicians deemed that there must have been another source of impact, but they fail to mention that the battery could have been creating pressure within the phone and also fail to mention that this battery was defective. Upon receiving this news, I was first of all surprised that the battery was swollen within the phone as I had only been using the Sony brand magnetic docking station and the Sony wall charger to charge the phone, it explained why the phone's screen could have cracked so easily in my pocket from me walking just a few blocks. I asked one of the Sony Xperia Care supervisors to re-evaluate my phone based on the fact that the battery could be the source of the fracture, and this supervisor became very agitated with me and said that since I am not a certified technician, I do not know how this phone broke and should trust the technician in their evaluation of there being another source of impact. There was no other source of impact and so I do not trust the technician's evaluation. There was only the added pressure from my leg (which should not crack a phone screen and make the battery swell the way it did). I asked the supervisor to have the phone re-evaluated, and he told me that they would get back to me within 48 hours with the status of re-evaluation. I never received a call. Since a few weeks had passed without a call from Sony, I decided to call them back. I got in touch with another supervisor, and he said exactly what the other supervisor said before and again failed to even mention that the battery was defective or that they re-evaluated based on that criteria. This supervisor then change subjects numerous times, making excuses as to why they will not repair the device. I was then led to believe that they were going to call back with another re-evaluation while awaiting for a response from corporate or the repair center on the re-evaluation. They once again did not contact me regarding this. I should mention that I was (and still am) taking a full course load for my post-secondary education, so I did not have endless amounts of time to keep calling when I was led to believe that Sony would contact me. I called back a month later, and I am told that they had thrown out my phone because I had not payed the initial quote and said that I did not contact the repair facility. At this point I have been calling both the repair facility and Sony's xperia service department regularly for 8 months and each time I called it took roughly 1-2 hours talking to different levels of authority as their base level Customer Service reps can not do anything but tell you that they can not do anything), and having to re-explain the entire story as well as waiting on hold for an agonizing 30 minutes between transfers to supervisors. I also had to call between the Xperia care department and the repair facility because both departments kept pinning responsibility on the other departments. If there is one take away from this entire experience, it is to be aware when purchasing Sony brand products as their customer service is simply a means to waste a lot of your time and money while not repairing your device if it is defective and/or if it is close to the end of the warranty period. They will make you go through a long and unnecessarily strenuous process as their customer service is incredibly unorganized, decompartmentalized, and lacks any level of communication which makes you spend a lot of time re-telling every detail to everyone and still have them make excuses for why their product is defective and try to make you think it was your fault. I have also learned that we can not be quiet about this level of injustice and plain thievery. I am going to be creating a campaign to expose this corporate abuse on people. -Evangelo

If you prefer Android platform for smartphones, Sony is the best option. The quality of each and every part used in its devices is far superior than other brands. As a matter of fact, I am a fan of Sony products. They are slightly expensive than other companies' products but you get quality for the extra bucks you are paying. I do not mind paying more if I get something better. All the products in electronics I use are mostly from Sony. While I have an iPhone as well but I prefer using Sony as my first phone.

Bought a new digital sony digital camera in August 2014 under their 'Cashback' promotion. I was/am due the princely sum of £30 - and am still waiting (end March 2015). I have re-submitted all the 'correct' hoop-jumping documents on several occasions, both on paper and electronically - and I have proofs of delivery from both. The (French based I think) cashback handling house have run out of excuses, including "we're waiting for money from Sony" and so I am now resigned to not receiving that for which I am entitled. NEVER will I buy from Sony again. The products might be great, and from my experience they are, but this company cannot be trusted to keep its end of a deal. IMHO - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

While I do realize many faithful customers are jumping ship to join the Korean and other forces, I still believe in Sony as a brand.I recently bought Sony KDL40W600B 40-Inch 1080p. I love this TV. Great picture quality. I have my TV connected to my wireless router which is 20 feet away and it works great. It also has incredible speakers and sound quality. The only criticism I have is all but one of the HDMI cable connections are recessed in a square opening which makes the initial hookup a little difficult but no big deal.

My Sony Vaio Tap 11 developed several faults within a few months of purchase, which are not due to wear and tear or misuse. The top right hand of the screen kept activating on its own registering repeated touches without actually touching the screen. In desktop mode this is where the close "X" is and thus the unit would repeatedly close down applications whilst being used. The keyboard would rarely charge when connected to the screen for more than a few minutes. It would switch off every 5 minutes, meaning I had to reconnect it for long enough to put the unit into sleep mode. Therefore, the keyboard could only be used if prepared to put the computer into sleep mode every 5 mins. These were just the start of my problems! After more than 3.5 hours on the phone to Sony's premium rate number, 4 x resets to factory settings, 1 x failed repair attempt and a second stint in the repair centre (currently at 4 weeks and counting), I still have no working laptop. Sony are refusing to replace/refund the product which is still in warranty. The support staff have not listened to any of the problems described despite nearly 4 hours on the phone to them. They have not updated me with progress at all despite assurances of a "VIP" service. Their complaints department's final offer is no more than a £50 gift voucher as "good will" for selling me a faulty product for which I paid £1,105 that they have kept in their possession for over 4 weeks and which I have wasted nearly 4 hours DURING WORKING HOURS on the phone to them. In addition, I sent in the stylus pen for the first repair ( I watched the courier put in the box and seal it in). Sony say they never received it and management are refusing to provide a replacement. A new one costs £42 but even though it was lost by their chosen courier en route or in their repair centre, it's my problem to solve! A £50 gift voucher is not adequate redress for all these problems - the amount of time spent on the phone, the time without a laptop which may or may not be fixed and an accessory worth £42 that they or a designated agent of theirs has lost. This is a truly appalling way to treat a customer who has been patient for 2 months with literally less than nothing to show for it. AVOID SONY COMPUTERS - it will cost you dearly! The lesson I've learned is buy a Mac as this would not happen at Apple!
