Beware to owners of anything Lippert
Beware to owners of anything Lippert I just wanted to share my recent experience with Lippert with the intent to make RV owners aware of Lippert’s unbelievable policy regarding “do-it-yourself” owners so you are not left in disbelief as I have been. I won’t go into great detail about my Leveling systems problem other than to say I was walked thru the troubleshooting by Lippert Customer Service and was told I had a failed Control Box. I ordered a new Control Box from Lippert ($700+) & received the unit 2 day prior to Tropical Storm Helene hit us in Western NC. With no electricity, water, internet or cellular service the RV was our lifeline. I installed the “plug & play” control box and attempted to power up the leveler with no response. After getting some cell service restored I called Lippert Customer Service and me and my multimeter were walked through the troubleshooting steps again. I was told by them that “It looks like you were sent a bad control box”. Thinking to myself, when it rains it pours, I was then told by Lippert Customer Service that they would be unable to accept the bad control box in return for a new one because I was not a “RV Technician”. I was told I would have to get a technician to install the box and have him send the unit back to Lippert for his credit. I explained my situation and the fact that I couldn’t clear the downed power line and trees to get my RV to a RV repair location. His response was that he saw my point but that was Lippert’s policy. With all of Lippert’s problems in the RV Industry, you would think they would be really trying to improve their relationship with consumers. Be aware if you are considering any Lippert purchase that this is how you will be treated.
